I have a few friends who've been swimming in their evening gowns, complete with full underwear, stockings, heels, the works.

I was wondering are there any other women out there who have done this and what made you do it?

Hi Johnny, I was wearing my evening gown also. Everyone said I looked so pretty and cute. A few boys asked me out. My sister and I had so much fun in our dresses when we went swimming in them. I just love girl clothes.

It's fun to hear that there are others who've done this too ! It was fun and as I said earlier not too heavy, but I guess it depends on the type of dress that you have. Mine was pink, with a main layer underneath and a thin sort of lace overlay, with lace sleeves (yep, it wasn't strapless like most dresses now, as my body doesn't work well with those :( ). What did your dress look like ?

Yes I jumped in with everything, shoes (white pumps), gloves (short lace ones, as my dress had sleeves) and my purse as well (white purse hanging from my shoulder). It was a quick thing and no time for preparations... Was it just you who went in or others too ? My bf joined me but nobody else (I tried to talk my best friend into it but she wouldn't go for it :( )

It'll must be cool! I had lilac strapless floor lenght gown with huge tulle skirt, long lilac satin gloves, matching satin heels, crystal necklace and tiara and white purse (inside I had make-up, phone, wallet and other stuff) also hanging from my shoulder:). I jumped hand on hand with my bf and after us a few friends jumped and some of my friends slowely goes in by steps. My gown was a little heavy out of the water but not in the water.
I planned do it another time again and what you?

Yeah I experienced the same, my dress wasn't heavy in the water but I really got it when I got out !! It was neat that you got a whole group doing it ! How did it happen - was it planned or a spur of the moment sort of thing ? As for us, we'd walked around a bit outside as it was a really lovely night and then we came to the pool and couldn't resist going in :)

Did the others manage to swim ok too ? What type of dresses did they wear ? At our prom there was one girl with a HUGE dress - sort of southern belle style. I just wonder how it would have been if she'd gone in :) (as far as I know I was the only one who went in that night)

How did your outfit survive it ? My stuff was ok once it had dried out, except a little rust on the purse (it had metal top edges with a clasp). Did you have any trouble like that, or maybe your purse had no metal on it ? Did the others go in dresses, heels and purse and everything or was that just you ?

I haven't exactly planned on doing it another time but it might well be that I will do it again, if the right situation comes and I'm in the right mood. It was fun ! And it seems like the dresses can stand it better than you would think. How about your friends, were their outfits ok too ?

Sounds like fun, Lynn. And if it gets too rough, you can always join us over in the mud volleyball thread with it. Bet that pink and white lace would look cute getting covered in mud...

Yes, others swim ok too. There was another four girls and three boys in the water, but we was first. Two of my friends has purses too. Boys was in tuxedos and girls was in floor lenght ball gowns. One has pumps and others has strappy high heels sandals. As for gowns one has red strapless gown with a wide skirt, second has pink gown and looks like bridesmaid, third has pale blue stright dress and fourth has tight black dress.
It was unplanned and when we go in others folow us. We dances outside and pool was thereabouts.
My dress and heels now ok. My purse outside ok too, but inside got a little stained from my makeup - eye shadow and compact. Lipstick, wallet and phone was after drying ok too. I must throw out only Kleenex, diary, eye shadow and compact.
My friends said that their outfits are now ok too.

Marky:

It sounds like such a funny scene with all of you going into the pool ! :) It must have looked coold with those who walked in too - were they the ones with the big dresses ? I think with a big dress that is safer, it might flip up over your head if you jump in - that almost happened to my dress that time !

Yes makeup will sometimes dissolve in water. Some of mine did - I got a few stains from that too but as you said that's inside the purse, no one will notice it. I'm surprised to hear that your phone survived - I thought they were super sensitive to water - one of my friends had hers ruined when she had it her her pocket on a rainy day! No my only real problem was with the rust, but I managed to polish most of it away - you have to look close to see it now. Maybe none of you had any metal on your purses then ? In my case the chain was metal as well and it has some rust stains on it, but they're small and not too noticeable.

As for shoes, I prefer pumps to sandal style when it comes to being all formal. It looks more formal somehow (even though I know that the strappy kinds are in fashion now) . I think it's especially so if you have a big dress - I guess the one who had pumps was one with a big dress ?

I'm going to another formal next month but that's an awards dinner thing and I don't think we'll be doing any swimming LOL ! I'm trying to decide now what I'll be wearing to the that one. I like formal events - it's fun to dress up like a princess now and then.

Jay:
Well it sounds wild but probalby too wild for me. I felt pretty wild jumping into the pool in that outfit but I think going into mud would be a bit beyond my limits, at least if wasn't for some special event like a fundraiser or something!

Yes, by the steps goes girls in big red and pink gown. The friend in the big red dress has red satin pumps and silver satin purse hanging from her shoulder.

As far as my phone my bf take it to parts and left it drying a few days. After that he sprayed it with special spray and put it together. My purse have also metal parts, but it is brass which look as gold and didn't rusting.

I also prefer pumps to the formal big dress. In April I'll go to the ball and I want after that again go to the pool in my formal gown, pumps and purse as well.

How funny it must have looked when they walked in like that ! I guess they decided to do it when they saw you in there! Were they right after you or were they maybe the last ones in ?

Good that you got your phone working again! I'd never dare to try to take min apart. You'd need a water proof model LOL ! Had you forgotten that it was in there or was it just that you didn't care at the time ? Maybe you'll take that one out next time if you'll do it again ? The metal on my purse looks like brass/gold as well but obviously there was some cheaper metal underneath which caused it to rust.

So you plan on doing it again in April ! Fun ! It sounds like you've made it your own tradition that you go for a swim whenever you're in a formal gown and with your heels and purse and all :) Is it the same outfit like last time or a different dress, shoes or purse ? Have you picked out what you gonna wear yet ? I'm soon going to that banquet I told you of and I'm right now getting ready for that one. I don't think there be any swim but one never knows...anyhow it will be great fun even without that!

How was it with your shoes that time - did they survive the dip ok ? My shoes were white so there was no problem but if you'd shoes that were dyed to match maybe they'd bleed ? I have one pair that got a bit discolored once just because the sidewalk was wet when I walked to the car ! I like classic type pumps, maybe a bit pointed but not the super pointed ones that are so in fashion now - they just squeeze my toes too much and make my feet hurt. I'm short so I always need high heels too! And if I'm at a party I usually dance quite a lot too.

I heard of a wedding where a bunch of people went into a pool like that but I wasn't there myself so I never saw it.

Yes, that's true. They joined us.

It was so attractive jump into the pool as I was, that I didn't care about my stuff inside my purse. When you jumped, did you thing about it and checked your purse? If I do it again I think that I also didn't care about it because it was so fun. Maybe I left my phone at home.

Next month I'll go to buy new dress for ball in April.

My shoes are OK now. It was red satin pump and got a little stained. If you din't know about it, you didn't notice.

I also heard of a wedding in the pool but I also never saw it. It must be very funny and nice when bride, bridesmaids and other go into the water in their gowns. Maybe I will do it.

No I didn\t take out my make up and stuff like that, even though I knew it was in there - I knew my phone wasn't there as I forgotten it at home. But I guess when you want to do fun things like that you don't care that much about the practical matters - you just go for it! But of course a phone in the water won't work that well - but I' sure you would have had many funny looks from the others if it had started to ring when you were in the water :) How was it with the others, did they also have phones and other stuff along or was that just you ? Did their stuff survive as well ?

A wedding with a swim sounds like a lot of fun but I'm not sure whether or not I'll be that daring when that day comes! For my weding I\d want a really fancy eloborate gown, which will probably cost loads and may not be good for swimming, though one never knows, it does sound like fun! If it's your wedding, you think you'll do it, even if you have a really expensive gown ? Or maybe if you're planning on this from the start you ight want to get a gown suited for it. I don't think I'd want to be married in a pool, as I'd like to have a formal church wedding - but afterwards maybe a swim could be fun!

My choice for a wedding gown would probably be a gigantic thing with a huge full skirt and lots of beading and ornaments. I don't find the simple straight dresses all that attractive. And as I mentioned already my body doesn't work well with the strapless dresses unfortunately :( So I'd need one with some kind of shoulders or sleeves on.

Do you know what kind of a dress that you are looking for for your party in april ? For the one I'm going to I'll have a white silk dress, full length with some width in it but not the big really wide style. It's partly beaded and it has a bolero type jacket with it. The jacket will hide my shoulders as they are not all that nice :( I tried the dress on the other night and it fits me very well.

I didn't ask my friends about stuff in their purses. But I notice that they also didn't checked it. I think that they have everything inside. I met my friend which had red dress and silver purse with new phone and I think that she had her old with her in, but I din't ask.

I want big wedding party where swimming in the pool can be diversified. I didn't prepare for it but if there occasion I do it. For my wedding I'd want look like princess and dressed into big long white dress with huge full skirt and long vail.

I don't know now which style of gown I buy for ball in April. Next month I looked. I thing about floor lenght in light pink color.

Marky, well it sounds like you and your friends are a fun bunch and as you need waterproof phones ! :) Did they all just have their purses hanging by the chain like that ? Myself I prefer chain/strap types as with the handheld ones I never know where I put it down!

So you're planning on swimming once more at the next party ? Is it held poolside ? I guess if you know you're gonna do it you can have it in ind when you pick your dress, shoes and purse! :)

Sammy, you mean u borrow your sisters gowns without that she knows it or is it ok with her ? If not I guess it could be a bit risky in case that one of them would get ruined so that she would notice it. Have all the dresses so far been ok ? Are they of the simple kind or the fancy gall styles ? Was it only you who did this or did she at any time join you for it ? It's good that her wedding gown was not damaged, as that might have upset her really - it's better to check with her first in such cases... Did you wear her shoes, purses and other stuff in the water too when you took these swims ? Myself I've only tried something like this one time but it was pretty wild - I went in in my gown, heels, purse and everything. It felt a little crazy but fun !!

Everybody in the water has purse hanging by the chain from their shoulder. I also prefer chain / strap types.

The hall where is assembly room have also big swiming pool with switch back. I don't know if they opened it, but if they do it I'll go there. It will be crazy go into the pool by switch back in my dress, heels and purse as well.

But I didn't prepare for swimming, I prepare only for ball and dress, shoes and purse I'll select also for ball.

Questions for Markey and Lynne.
Now that you have gone swimming in your prom dresses and you intend to do it again, would it matter to you if your dresses got comletly ruined ?
Had you ever intended to wear the same gowns again ? How much would you spend on an outfit ?
And what do you do with your old dresses after they dont look quite so new anymore.
Surely after swimming in them they will only be fit for the trash
would you ever consider for fun a foodfight , or mudfight just to finish them off?

no she dosent know i swim in her gowns shes a stuck up stepsister. all the gowns have been fine so far, had a few close calls getting them dry . go in with every thing on heels, purse.s which u have to dry really well or metal goes rusty. went in with a fake fur on as well that took ages to dry think it soaked up half the pool. no there not simple gowns. she got a brand new royal blue duchesse satin off the shoulder full lenght full skirted ball gown with a small trian a while ago for a ball, i borrowed it first had a great swim in the whole outfit. she went to the ball in it and was none the wiser.

Marky, sounds like a nice place to go! If do go swimming do you think it will be just you or are any others likely to join you ? Either way I'm sure you'll have fun!

Dn, no the swimming doesn't do much damage like you think. My dress looked great in any case, but maybe there are other types of dresses that will get ruined if you get them wet. In my case the only real damage was some mess inside my purse, from make up that had become messy when it got wet. Well, mud fight sounds a little too messy/dirty for me. A might get into a fod fight one day if I'm in the right mood for it though...

Sammy, you're lucky nothing went wrong with that dress if you did it right before she was to wear it to a ball !! So none of her stuff has been damaged so that she'd suspected something then ? You mentioned problems with rust on purses ? I got a little of that on mine that time but it's hardly noticable. Or were they of a type that really rusted ? Mine had brass/gold rails on top and on the inside they got a little rusty, but only a little. My dress and my shoes survived fine as well, but I think some shoes should not get wet or they could be ruined. What kind did you wear that time ?

Rachel, sounds like you like getting wet too ! Do you wear your heels, purse and so too for it ? What does your uniform look like ?

In general (not just when we're talking about getting wet I mean), I like formal parties and other occasions when you can dress up really. There are too few of them !!

a friend of mine got marryed last weekend, i went round to help her get ready, she had a very expensive satin full skirted gown with lice sleeves and lace and beaded trimed bodice, the gown also had a 10ft train and bow detail at the beck it was the most georgeous gown ive ever seen, before goin to the chuch she had a few photos taken in the garden by the pool, the photographer that it would be a good idea to have her on the diving board for the last shot, whilst she was up there on of the bridsmaids for a laigh shouted jump, my friend just looked at us and laughed and then to our amazement she actualy did dived right in, gown shoes veil the lot we couldnt beleive it her mother nearly had a heartattack. she swum a length then got out and we still went to the church for the ceramony. i will never forget that event.

hey cindy your friend should join our club. every saturday 4 of us meet up and get all dressed up in our wedding outfitts , we take in turns to be the bride, then we spend all afternoon playing in the pool. during the summer we go down the beach after work and go for a swim in our business suits, that makes people stare, we dare each other to go out after swimming, two of us went to a restauant in wet gowns a while ago.

hi sara. its hard to describe what its like, i think its a wonderfull feeling, standing on a diving board in your finest gowm, shoes, gloves looking at the pool, then diving straight in, or standing on the edge and walking slowly down the steps, if the pool has some, walking in slowly is the best tho . especialy if people are watching u do it, just seeing the look on there faces . hope that helps . have fun you will ehjoy it.

Yesterday I bought fantastic soft pink strapless (with extra straps for hte not so daring) floor length gown. The satin top is fully lined and padded, handecorated with beads and sequins in a subtle pattern. The sparkle organza skirt is gorgeous just gorgeous (with 4 layers, organza, taffeta, crinoline and taffeta). With it I bought matching satin classic snipped toe pump on a sculpted 2 1/2 inch heel and purse. It is lightly beaded with a beaded rope and small clasp closure inside. I hope that pool would be open :)

Sara: I think that better is walking slowly down by the steps.

Rachel: Have you anything inside your purse and is it OK now?

hi marky and leanna

Thanks for ur advice. I think the pool has steps, so I will try going in slowly if everything. I know that for most people, they said the dresses and shoes were okay afterwards. For those of u who wore gloves, how did they survive the swim?? Did the clorine hurt then at all?? Thanks if anybody still has thoughts about swimmin with gloves, i'd luv to hear it! I can't wait to try it!!

Sara, no gloves won't be ruined - they probably stand it much better than shoes or purses ! I'd gloves on that time and there were no problems, not with the kind that I had anyhow. Also your gloves won't make it any harder to swim so the feeling on how it will be to swim will depend on more what style or type of gown that you will be wearing and perhaps also on what kind of shoes that you will be wearing, that is if you plan on keeping them on for the swim as well of course.

Wow, I can't believe that a bride would go in BEFORE her wedding in her gown!! I could see it happening at the reception but before, that 's daring!

Leanna, when you and your friends do that swim, you use wedding gowns from thrift store or so or your real ones (assuming that you're married then). I've never heard of a club like that but it does sound like you're having fun! If you're not married you can of course try it out for real at some later time..

Marky, your out5fit sounds great... you think it can stand water ok ?

Rachel, is it always your uniform or do you swim in other clothes as well ? I can imagine it must be a bit heavy with a coat on but I guess it depends on the type of coat ? How about your uniform, heels, purse and so, do they survive it ok or do you get any problems afterwards ?

As I mentioned earlier I love getting dressed up to the nines, but unfortunately it\s not often that you can do it. I've got one super formal gown that is so formal that it's even too formal for prom! I wore it once to a historical society ball, but I hope I can use it some other time too!

lynn,
its not always my uniform do wear other clothes, yes coats are heavy carnt swim to long in one.
uniforms fine wear them to work arter , shoes tend to fall apart if used to many times purses are ok if metal bits dryed well.

Marky, some times have things in purse but that does make a mess and riun them.

no we havnt thought of playing in the mud, must take ages to get cleaned up arfterwards, some times get all lathered up tho.
Lynn,

Leanna, the very formal dress is a copy of a princess style dress used at the old Austrian emperial court. It's a HUGE crinoline dress with a VERY tight bodice and a gigantic skirt. It's made of heavy shantung silk and has many different layers plus an enormous crinoline with metal in it. It's heavily adorned with embroideries, stones and so and it weights a ton! It comes with special underwear and I can not put that one on properly without help and it's not very comfortable - I had to practice in the entire outfit for three weeks before that ball to learn how to walk, sit and so in it. Still it was worth it, I felt like a real princess once I got it all on! But it would take a really special occasion to get a chance to wear it again :( But it's clearly my most formal and most expensive dress ever!

Marky, Yeah most likely your dress should survive, but it sounds as if you gonna go in no whether it does or not and I'm sure you'll have fun! Yeah, leaving your phone at home mikgt sound like a good idea if you're planning on going in with your purse and all that is. I'd guess the åhone would be the most sensitive - when I did it the makeup was what got it the most, but I'd no phone inside. Anyhow, it's a crazy way of going swimming and that's what makes it fun I guess; you don't have to care about practical matters for a change!

Rachel, yeah I can imagine coats would be hard to swim in! They must soak up so much water. What kind of coats have you used ?

To Leanna who posts here,

Thanks for leaving a post on the 'muddy gown' forum thing. I note you often get wet and dress up really smartly and go to public pools etc for the hell of it, it's something I would love to have the bottle to do with a smart suit, tie etc.

Have you worn your wedding dress etc, or prom gowns, other business wear in pools or just at the beach and privately with your mates who like to do it too. Its great for you that you have a gang of you who like to do this and ya not on ya own.

Can you post more of your experiences and escapades of your wet clothes, I would love to hear them.

Best wishes,

Chris

i went to a pool party in germany a few years ago with my swedish g/f. we dressed for dinner, which meant ties and dress trousers for the men (it was summer) and dresses for the ladies. we had some drinks poolside, and then were led by the hostess to walk into the pool (or dive, as some did) and mingle that way. it was awesome! waiters and waitresses serving drinks walked into the pool as well. dinner was served literally at the poolside with wine and everything. an unforgettable evening! doesn't happen here in the us very often, but would love to know about it if one happens!

Marky, sounds like you'd fun! You just went right into the shower! Had you planned this or was it a spur of the moment thing ? Maybe you'd checked that you'd no phone inside your purse this time :) No big mess inside this time ?

Louise, sounds like you'd fun too! You mentioned you'd suede on, boots & purse, did that survive the water? I've never tested but I've heard that you shouldn't get suede wet. Same with hats I guess. You do this often ? Ever done it in formal gowns and so too ? I've done that once...but might well try it again!

Hey guys, wassup?
I've always enjoyed the sight of a well-dressed woman soaking wet. I can't see a good-looking woman in a suit or evening dress without wanting to get her all wet. Of course, it's even more fun to join in. Unfortunately, I'm so far north you risk dying of hypothermia if you try it outdoors: you have to wait until the height of summer.

I haven't my phone inside now because I forget it at home before, but I had much other things like hair brusher, diary, make-up, calculator and wallet. Soaking_trev, my fav ball gown for swimming in ? Well I've only done it once, after my prom, and it was in a pink gown. You can read a bit more about it higher up here.

Lousie, hmm it sounds like suede is not as sensitvie as I thought it would be. Where your boots or shoes and purses natural color suede or the colored kind ? I remember I once had a pair of blue suede shoes, they dyed my feet blue even if they just got the slightest wet! As for clothes I've some clothes that are suede but I've always kept them dry. You mentioned that suits dry like card board - did you try to go swimming in a suede suit you mean? Do you check first whether your outfit would be ok for getting wet before you do it? Hats I can understand they'd have a problem. Fun to hear you've tried formal, and even wedding, outfits as well ! What kind were they ? I've only tried it in my pink prom dress but I might well do it again at some other time :)

Hi there! I found this thread and its wonderful there are other women who enjoy getting wet while dressed up!! I myself have done it several times with my evening gowns (even a few times muddy) and its a wonderful way to retire an evening gown you never plan to wear again.

It sounds like your prom was a great event! Your gown sounds lovely, glad you and your boyfriend enjoyed yourselves :)

I read about your really fancy princess gown you wore to a ball on an above posting, it sounds very lovely. Have you ever thought of wearing it into the pool? :) Maybe if you never wear it again, it could be lots of fun!

Naoko, you sound like a real pro for this ! I've only done it that one time after the prom so I'm more of a novice - anyhow it was great fun! You've obviously read about it on here :) It sounds like you've done it quite a lot ? How do you do it ? Please tell a bit more! What's your dressiest outfit for it so far? Do you go in with heels and purse and all like what I did that time ?

As for my princess dress, well I think I might die if I jump in in that one, one of those ways: 1) I might drown as swimming in that one must be impossible 2) my parents might kill me (they bought the dress for me). Maybe at some time in the future I could consider it but not with my parents around for sure! But that time at the prom was great fun, I wouldn't mind doing that again if the right occasion comes along.

Marky, have fun at the ball! I hope you'll have a blast!!

Marky:

I hope you have a wonderful time at your ball. From what I've read, it should be very wet afterwards. Please share with us what happens! :)

Lynn:

Yes, I am pretty used to doing it, having done it a good number of times :) I usually do it at home, I have a jacuzzi in my home, rather large one, so I can enjoy myself ratehr nicely. The jets are really soothing and invigorating!

I like to get dressed up as much as possible for it, gown, heels, gloves, some jewelry, makeup, handbag sometimes too. If i'm going to do it, It might as well feel like i'm going to a party :)

But I have done it spontaneously as well! On one occasion I was at a charity event in the country, and me and my boyfriend went dressed in new outfis, him in a tux, me in a new gown. It was made of black satin with tulle underneath the full skirt to make it stand out nicely, small straps with metal clasps, with a bow on the back of the bodice. Wore some black pumps, some long black satin gloves, and a small hat with black roses on the brim. It was really pretty, I felt so elegant in it!

After dinner when everyone was enjoying some coffee out in the backyard (it was a large cottage along side a rather large creek) me and my boyfriend were walking along the shore, and my boyfriend managed to lose his balance while he was sipping his drink. he fell sideways into the creekbed!
I was a little surprised at first, but I couldnt help but giggle at what had haoppened. I guess he was a little annoyed at my response, because next thing I know he grabs my arm and pulls me in too!!

He knew about how much i liked this kind of thing, so he asumed I wouldnt mind doing it in public. Well, he was right! We ended up play wrestling in the creek, it was rather muddy so we ended up getting rather soggy and dirty :).
Everyone else was a little shocked, but many ended up laughing and gossiping over the whole thing. One couple even joined us out of sympathy, saying it wasnt fair that we were the only ones at the party with ruined outfits. We all had fun splashing, swimming and just relaxing with some coffee together, and eventually we all went out seperate ways, me and my boyfriend using a garden hose to clean off any mud before we went home together.

The dress managed to dry clean fairly well, after the mud was washed away first. I was rather surprised at how good it looked afterwards because I wasnt sure if it would have survived! One shoulder strap did snap, but i managed to replace it myself, but the metal clasps did rust a little. The heels unfortunately didnt take to the muddy creekbottom well and had to be tossed :( but the gloves and hat came out fine! Despite some ruin, It was a memorable experience! :)

I have other stories I can share, if you wish to hear them. :)

Naoko, what a great story! Yes I'd love to hear more of them! How about the other couple that joined you, were they as dressed up as you were or what did they wear ? Strange that your dress survived while your shoes got ruined! But you must have plenty of stories to share too if you do this every now and then! It would be great to hear about other times too! Do your outfits usually survive or not ?

Louise, you mentioned that suede was ok for footwear but not for suits - what color where they ? I guess that could sometimes be a problem - I once had a pair of blue suede shoes and they dyed off on my feet even if they just got damp so I can imagine what would have happened if I'd gone in with them on. You mentioned suits get like cardboard; did you try it? Do you usually check first what your outfits can stand or not?

That time after the prom I didn't have any trouble with my stuff except then that there was a tiny bit of rust on my purse and that some of the stuff inside got a bit messy.

Thanks for sharing your story. Do you have any other ones. My prom is coming up in a couple of weeks and I'm hoping to take a pluge myself. I'd love you hear your other stories as well. I'd love to hear about the accessories youve worn in the water (shoes, gloves, jewelery, etc). As you'll see in my previous posts, I've been wondering what its like with long satin gloves on (I'm glad to hear yours survived okay). So, if you have any other stories where you were wearing gloves, I'd love to hear them. Thanks!

Thanks for your story. When you take your handbag into the water did you have any your stuff inside? Did survive it?

On Saturday I had my ball. It was fabulous. I prepared only for ball. First I think about protected some stuff inside my purse before water, but I don't know if they open the pool. I didn't it. The ball proceeded usualy. We danced, drank, chat. But at midnight they light and open the pool area. Most of us go there and have fun. First I and my date take pad and go to the tube slide. I carefully sit to the pad, put my purse to my legs and hold it. My date sit behind me and we start slide to the pool. It was absolutely fantastic.

Marky, I was in a hurry when I wrote the last one - anyhow, great to hear that you'd fun at the party! Was it a big occasion? I know you like to bring your purses in - what kind of purse did you have? How did things inside handle it? How about shoes?

Was this swim thing at the end planned (by those whp fixed the party I mean) ? What started it all? Were there many who went in all dressed up or did the others change first so that you got everyones attention when you went in all dressed up? I'd love to hear it all!

As for me I haven't been to anything formal lately. Events like that are too rare!

Hi Lynn
I had my dress, purse and heels which I bought two month ago. It was soft pink spagetti straps floor length gown. The satin top is fully lined and padded, handecorated with beads and sequins in a subtle pattern. The sparkle organza skirt is with 4 layers, organza, taffeta, crinoline and taffeta. With it I had matching satin classic snipped toe pump on a sculpted 2 1/2 inch heel and matching purse, which is lightly beaded with a beaded rope and small clasp closure inside.

Some of my stuff inside the purse survived (lipstick, wallet, pen...) and some not (compact, eye shadow, Kleenex, pad...). My phone was also inside now, but a few day before I bought new one and I think, that this old one I throw out. Compact and eye shadow got liquid and very little stained inside purse. My gown and heels survived ok.

On the ball was about one hundred people and when promoters opened the pool area about twenty people go there. Nobody prepared. Some of girls and boys go stright to the pool by steps, some was tossed, some jump and some used the sides. I and my date was at the tube slide as first. Most of the girls had their purses too.

Marky, great fun obviously! Were the guys all in tuxes or ? How about the other girls, could you please describe their outfits ? Any really fancy ones? Or were you the most dressed up one? It sounds like a great party...would have been fun to be there :)

Soaking trev, well that time after the prom was the only time that I'd gone in all dressed up. Sure I've been in the water with my clothes on at other times too, especially when I've been sailing, but then it's usually been more casual stuff. I did get wet in a party dress once when we walked home from a party and it started to rain though. As for you and your wife taking a shower like that, no what would be strange about it - anything is ok for a couple as long as you both like it and it's not hurting anyone. But if you're in a tux, why is she wearing a business suit ? Doesn't quite match...a formal gown would be more fitting..or you should wear a bus suit then too! How about shoes, purse and so - does that go into the shower too? Did you shower after your wedding too ?

Tom, no pictures were taken when we went in. We hadn't planned it, it was a spur of the moment thing. One of my friends took a couple of pictures of me all wet afterwards, she promised to send me copies but she never sent me any :(

soaking trev, your spa bath sounds like a fun way of ending a wedding! Had you changed into reception clothes or did you take your bath in tux & wedding gown, shoes and all ? How about your bridesmaids, what did they wear? Good to hear they joined you, I guess not all BMs would be willing to do that! :)

you sound very interested in this. do you ever have the urge to intentially get caught in the rain or splash in a puddle or even shower in your clothes in order to enjoy the feeling? my girlf friend and i have been doing this for years and love it! email me if you'd like--just curious.

Soaking trev, that sounds like a fun wedding! Was it planned or just happened like that ? I'm sure your guests andyour BMs got a bit surprised!

Gary, sure I think it sounds like fun...I love water and I've been wet tons of times, but mostly just in shorts or jeans or so. To get wet in dressy clothes is a bit wilder, a bit naughty sort of but still harmless. Our walk in the rain that time was great fun and so was the swim after prom. If it's just the right circumstances I'd definitely do it again. I would guess that a pool is more fun than a shower but I may be wrong. You mean you shower fully dressed like that ... I might try to pull my bf in one day :) What do you wear for your showers ? You dress specially for that or shower in what you happened to be wearing ?

Saoking trev, what a funny sight that must have been! You should have asked someone to take your picture, with u and them all in there - must have been crowded too! How many BMs did you have? I've been to some funny weddings but not to one where that happened! Did you/them all go in shoes and all or take them off first? The only wedding I've seen where they got wet (a little) was one where it started to rain on their outdoor ceremony. But it was not so that they got all soaked, just a bit wet, as it was not such very heavy rain. It was not like that time when I and my bf walked home from the party, that time it really rained!

soaking trev, I'd a dark blue velvet party dress, not a long gown but about kneelength, mini sleeves on top, a little flared out but not hoop style or anything. Whether I staid in the rain to get wet - no need - the rain was really heavy so we were soaked within minutes and it was a pretty long walk anyhow. We'd planned on driving home but my BF had had a couple of drinks so there was no way I'd let him drive and he'd his sort of monster truck that day and I just don't dare to drive that one. so we said let's take a nice walk home instead. It wasn't raining when we started out but after we'd been walking for some 15 minutes it started coming down heavily. My BF asked me if we should seek shelter but I told him there was no need (wouldn't have worked anyhow as the rain kept pounding down for at least a couple of hours). Sp pretty soon I was all soaked, but luckily the rain was nice and warm and there was no thunder or so. So no, didn't stay any extra for the rain but didn't try to hurry either, after the first 10 minutes it made little difference anyhow. Of course everything got soaked, my dress, shoes (matching blue pumps), purse (also blue) and all. We got some funny looks from people but I guess it must have looked like the movie Singing in the Rain or like that.

How did your BMs react that time ? Did they go in on their own or did you ask them ? Did you ask them to keep shoes and all on too ? B.t.w., what type of shoes were you all wearing ? As I just mentioned I'd blue pumps that time in the rain and of course they got all squishy after a while. The only problem was that for such a long walk, high heels are not ideal - I really had sore feet the next day!

Yes, a pool is much more fun than a shower, but in the winter, the shower will do.

we wear whatever generally. my g/f turned me on to this, and she generally will just jump in the shower in the morning with me when i am getting ready for work with her nightie or just a t-shirt and panties. if we go out to dinner and we have dressed up, she likes to jump into the shower straight away.

foam parties and hot tubs i find are more fun, or hotel pools late at night when we are on vacation. we also like to get wet in jeans from time to time. feel free to email me for more details!

Soaking trev, you don't know what pumps are ? That's the classic type of ladies shoes (can be with higher or lower heels) with a heel, closed toe normally and no straps or anything; the typical dress up shoes ? As opposed to e.g. strappy heels, those are often like high heeled sandals.

That time when I went swimming in my gown I was standing on the edge for a brief moment and then just jumped, feet first right in. Yes I was actually swimming, at least parts of that pool were too deep for me to stand anyhow. Yes we stayed in for quite a while; I think it must have been at least half an hour, maybe more...the water was really nice that time. Yes I could see me doing it again, if the circumstances are just right. As I mentioned already I love water; just that it has to be warm enough; I'd not go into freezing water or get wet if I have to stay in my wet clothes in cold weather.

Had you and your wife decided before the wedding that you'd do that ? WHat kind of a wedding gown did she have ?

Gary, sounds like the two of you are having a lot of fun too! U mentioned if you've been out for dinner you go into the shower right after - what kind of clothes would that be - you get really dressy or more casual ? Shoes as well ?

we generally are dressy and yes, shoes as well. my g/f loves to wear nice dresses and likes me to wear khakis. we have a big bathtub, so we often just sit in the water and drink wine (with candles, of course!) while the tub fills, then get into more adventuresome things!

Gary, your wine & candles tub times sound really romantic!! And I guess the fact of being dressed up adds to that :) Have you ever been really dressed up for it ? As for me I like to dress up if I'm dating my boyfriend or so - it adds to the atmosphere plus that he likes to see me like that!

Hi, Lynn

The dressiest we got was after a formal dance we were invited to and we rented a room in a hot tub afterwards. She wore nice red heels, thighigh hose with a garter belt, red lingerie, a red dress, cotton but formal. i wore a blue suit with white oxford shirt and blue tie.

after the dance, we returned to our room and set up candles around the hot tub. we opened a bottle of wine and just sat and talked on the edge, our feet (with shoes on) dangling in the water. after a time, we moved down and sat on the first wet step and went progressively from there, until we were entirely soaked. it got more romantic after that! definitely something you should try with your b/f.

Soaking trev, sorry I forgot your question about my gown - no it didn't really float around me - it mostly stayed down or at least enough down so that it was not in the way. Actually swimming was easier than I would have imagined! I would have thought that the dress would weigh me down but it was not at all like that.
With your food fights - you said good clothes - what kind ? Could you give me an example ? That time when we'd the mini food fight at the BD party is was mostly cream and cake - it was in the girls living room so it would have meant trouble if it had developed into a major one! I once heard of a party where that happened but I wasn't there so I don't know any details.

Gary, sounds like you'd a really nice evening!! Any more fun memories like that to share?

hi, lynn

yes, quite a few! (email me anytime!)

last spring, we were at a wedding, oddly enough, and "fell" into the pool on the way back to the room after the reception. (me--a blue suit, white shirt, red tie, black socks and shoes, blue silk boxers and g/f--a blue bridesmaid's gown, white shoes, purse, and hose, black bra and bikini panties). there was no one else around, so we were able to swim around and enjoy the water. we made it more fun by swimming a lap and taking off an article of clothing after each one. soon we were down to our underwear and i'll let your imagination take it from there!

Gary, sounds like good fun! You said you left them floating, would they really float ? Would not things like shoes or purse SINK rather than float ? Or what kind of shoes and purse were they ? I'd imagine some shoes, like such with cork in them, would actually float. But the idea of one itme per lap sounds fun - in which order (e.g. should the dress go first or the shoes or the purse etc). Of course the more items you have the longer you can swim...

Soaking trev, your play with the wine sounds like something that I heard happened at a wedding once. I wasn't there myself though so I don't know of any details about that one. No I don't think you're crazy - just fun-loving! But honey sounds very sticky...guess it would wash off but it would take ages to get it all off I think! I suppose honey would not ruin your clothes? Was the wine thing your most dressed up time for it ?

the purse and shoes floated as well, oddly enough; the purse was empty.

here is how it went: first lap one shoe each, followed by the second. (must stop for kissing and caressing after each lap, btw) third lap, she took off her thigh highs (but not the garter belt), i took off my socks. fourth lap, she took off her shawl, i took off my jacket. fifth lap, she took off her belt, i removed my tie. sixth lap she took off her dress, i removed my belt. seventh lap she removed her slip, i took off my pants. eighth lap she took off her dress, i took off my shirt. ninth lap she took off her bra and garter belt, i took off my tshirt. final lap, she removed her panties, i dropped my silk boxers. it was great fun!

Gary, sounds like you really had a blast, but how come she took off her dress twice - sixth lap AND eight lap ??? Yeah I suppose a purse could float, at least for a while, if it's empty. I remember that time when I jumped in after the prom my purse floated at first but pretty soon it started to sink instead and if I'd taken the strap off my shoulder it would have gone to the bottom of the pool. But of course I had my make-up, keys and stuff like that in there. It's not often that a womans purse is empty - never happens to me anyhow :)

Hi Soaking Trev and all,

I am male and just love wet formalwear. I think it is the sexyiest thing you can see a girl wear with some nic underwear underneath. Just the expense of a nice outfit like a wedding dress or a gown or a nice fitted suit, all wet is lovely.

I have posted many thoughts on the 'mud voleybal in prom gonw' forum and you coudl read them.

As far as the fantasy goes, I would like to take part with my partner (currently single) in a formalwear scene and for her to dress up in a classy dress or even better, a wedding dress and me to dress up in a posh expensive suit and just have a lovely time toegther, in a shower, a bath, or to walk slowly inot a pool. It would be heaven.

I used to bath and shower in my own clothes and some suits a few years ago but have'nt done it for a while and the sensation is hard to describe but it is a nice feeling, wet clothes against your skin and I just think it is naughty fun too.

I am from the North East of England and am a Data Analyst and Horse Racing Advisor and am 33 years old if anyone wanted to know.

Hope I get some replies. Its great that Lynn, and other females seem to enjoy getting wet in their posh gear and see it as fun too.

Best wishes to all,

Chris

Soaking trev, as for washing out honey, honey is rich in sugar so I guess hot water would be the best, but I could see that just taking your clothes off would be hard if it's that sticky, they might tear rather than come off. But I don't think that honey would stain the clothes or so - it's not like wine or similar.

Gary, well it was after our prom and sure I'd pantyhose on, like always if you get dressed up. When I got dressed I'd of course no thought of going swimming - that was something that came up all of a sudden when we had the pool there and was in the mood for testing it. Yes as I said earlier, it was really nice in the water and warm enough so that we could stay in for quite a while.

Gary, you ask if it was erotic that time; well everything you do with your BF on a date has a bit of that touch doesn't it and swimming together was no exception, especially as we were kissing each other...but other than that, such matters I can discuss with my BF but not here on the web. It sounds like you and your GF have your fun times and the time you mentioned sounded fun - you said you FELL in - how did that happen? As for us that time we jumped in, after staying on the edge for a little while.

Trev, no I didn't swim any laps - that would have been really heavy...most of the time me and my BF were just floating around...enjoying each others company so to say, basically he was holding me in his arms - he's much taller than me and could reach the bottom which was impossible for me. Yes I went in and out a couple of times - I think we were in for 45 minutes toan hour - I'm not sure; wasn't paying attention to the time at that moment.

Hi all, I'm back here now.

Lynn,
yes it was very great party. Every boys was in tuxes and girls in gowns. Most dressed was one girl in sherbet embroidered dress with multi-colored flowers on sculptured strapless bodice with circular, tulle skirt, matching shawl, satin gloves and satin pumps. On her head she had very nice crystal tiara. With it she had white hand type satin purse with white beadet trim and feather overlays. She slowly go alone by steps to the pool with purse in one hand and glassfull of champagne in second.

It's fun to read it all - it's one step wilder than our prom swim that time! How did it all start - were you the first ones in or how was the ice broken so to say ?

Trev, you must have had quite a few looks from people as well! Was it a formal style dress or a short one ? A car wash - wouldn't the brushes hurt you ? I wouldn't dare to try that one!

Marky, sounds like such a great scene! Did she seem to enjoy it ? Do you think her outfit survived the dip ? Any others that were really dressed up ?

Trev, my age ??? I'm 93! No not quite...just a HS senior. The prom where I went into the pool was our junior prom. Actually I'm going to prom in two weeks time, but sorry guys, no swim this time! Our proms last year were really fancy, held at a fancy hotel, with most girls in really fancy gowns, just about everyone arrived by limo or a few even by helicopter and so on. Some had super outfits - I know one girl who had a $ 4000 dress and the gossip at school has it that one girls dress was $ 25000, but I'm not sure that is true. There was a sad side too - two kids got killed after the prom (not my prom but the senior one, in a DD accident). Anyhow, some parents complained that the prom was getting such a big expense and the PTA decided that this year things should be scaled down. No fancy hotel, no limos or helicopters, no afterparties and they recommended us to stay below $ 200 for our dresses and so on. Í like to really dress up but I got around that rule as I'll be wearing a dress I had already. Even if it's a fancy dress they can't accuse me of overspending when I actually didn't buy any dress at all for this prom. But at the place they'll have it now there is no pool, so no swim. But if there had been one it would have been fun to jump in again!

Trev, it was a mauve color gown, very low cut in front and no back. Matching shoes. We all jumped in the pool at a friends house, we had a blast. The gown got pretty heavy, with the water. And my hair went flat, I have long curly blonde hair. We dunked each other. It was so fun.

Samantha, how fun! Were there many of you ? What did the others wear? Did they also keep heels and purses along or was that just you? As for me I did it at last years prom and had a blast - everything went in! Shoes & purse included! What kind of shoes & purse did you have? But it wasn't a group like that, just me and my BF. This year we can't do it as they've changed the prom, otherwise I'm sure I would have gone in again - but at this prom there will be no pool and as they'd an accident last year they won't allow us to leave the prom now - we all have to stay until the early morning and nobody is allowed to drive home...so the chances of getting wet are very small.

Trev, what do you mean, your wording is strange...anyhow, yes I have gone swimming all dressed up once and it was fun, and I wouldn't mind doing it again. In more casual stuff, yes that's been fairly often, mostly when I've been sailing.

Trev, casual stuff, well it's mostly been while sailing so depending on how warm it's been it's been either jeans + T or shorts + T...so not at all like that time when I jumped in at our prom last year! That was extra fun just because I wasn't at all dressed for doing something like that! But I don't think this years prom will be anything that exciting :(

Hi

Lynn, she looked like when she go to the parquet and not to the pool. Everybody was formal dressed and most of the girls had purses as well. I don't know who was first in because when we landed in the pool a few people was in.

Gary, your stories are great. Take your GF her purse in purposely or not? Had she more stuff inside? And how others?

Hello ladies.
Just a quick question. Have any of you ever gotten into bed in wet clothes? I have and it's a great feeling. I usually like to take a bath, in jeans, boxers, socks, a shirt and a coat, then get out of the tub and slide under the covers of my waterbed.
I totally enjoy the feeling of a big puddle forming under my body, and the feeling of the sheets sticking to my body as I roll around.

Rob,

Yes I have. I have taken a shower or bath in full dress, stockings, heels, etc. I then got into bed, which I had previously lined with towels to absorb the moisture. Hint: It's probably too cold in one's home to do this in the winter, regardless of how well the heat works. In the summer, if you don't kill the air conditioning that night you will wake up with chills as the combination of cool air and wet clothes eventually lowers your body temperature while you sleep.

Odla,
You know what? If it's her gown, then what business is it of yours to judge her for what she chooses to use it for? If she wants to wear it once and hang it in her closet till it rots, or take it straight home from the store, unwrap it, put it on, and walk out straight into the mud and roll around in it, it's HER clothing to do what she wants in it. If YOU don't "get it", simply don't do so in your own clothes. But who are you to tell anyone else what they an and cannot do with what is theirs? If you don't like it, feel free to read another thread here or start one of your own that reflects your interests.

last night, i was so hot that i went to a fountain to soak my feet. i was wearing a navy light pinstripe suit, white blouse, white lace bra and silk g-string, and white heels.

as i stretched my feet into the pool of the fountain, the back of my skirt got very wet. soon, the wetness crept over my bottom as the water sloshed in the fountain. as i stretched my legs further, i "slipped" into the fountain and ended up sitting in the water up to my breasts and with my suit jacket floating around me. i then just said the heck with it and stood undder the spray, drenching myself entirely. it was a hot day, and no one seemed to mind. a couple of other girls joined me in casual clothes, jeans and such. it was great fun!

Hi all - it's been ages since I visited this place ! But at least it's still around. Well our prom has been of course and it was both good and bad. It started bad but at least we got a swim at the end.

The bad part was my bf was a disaster...he pretty much ignored me and was hanging with some other guys. Security was super strict this time so there was no chance for them to go and drink during the party. But some guys who knew about that had made up for it by drinking BEFORE they came there...like just before so that they would pass the gate without problem but get drunk pretty much right after. And when that happened he got a real pain...i couldn't even get him to dance properly. My best friends had the same problem - these guys were hanging together and spoiling everything. They either ignored us or were rude to us and kept hinting they wanted to head for bed together with us right afterwards.. Already at about 11 we'd had enough and decided to leave. We were all upset and girl was in tears and almost hysterical - she really loved her bf but she'd never seen him like that. We'd no way of getting home at this hour, but I called my dad and he was willing to make the long drive and get us. When he came I explained what had happened and he was VERY understanding and we all went to my place.

Once there we were all in a bad down mood but my dad tried to cheer us up a bit and gave us snacks, said we could at least have fun together and said we could all stay at our house if we wanted to. We liked that so the other girls called home, and it was ok with their folks. After we've had our mini party for a while I thought of the pool...we had the pool lights on and it looked so inviting, but then my folks were still around. I waited for them to head to bed, but they seemed like they wanted to stay up for a while... When I felt like I didn't want to wait any longer I decided to take a chance and just ask my dad right out...could we use the pool. He said sure, why not ?? but I guess he thought we'd change first! After some chatting with my friends we walked over to the pool and I looked at my folk and hardly dared to ask if it was ok to get wet - they just said that "well, you've had a rough nite so you should have some fun..." ...so we did and we'd a great time !! So prom nite was both good and bad....

Yes we'd a good time that way...at least something good when all the rest went bad.. And yes, we might do it again some day if we have another party and a chance to hit the pool like that. We all had our prom dresses on, but the dresses were a bit simpler styles this year as they had told us not to spend over $ 200 on our dresses this time but as I mentioned earlier I sort of got around that by using a dress that I had from another party.

Yes we stayed in for quite a while...splashing, swimming, going in and out a few times. It was fun ! I think our stuff survived pretty good. I haven't asked the others in detail about what survived and what maybe didn't though. I was the most dressed up and my dress still survived anyhow. We flipped a coin as to see who's gonna go in first and I was number 3 into the pool. My friend Marsha was the first one, which is funny as she's the most reserved of us four and the one you wouldn't think would do stuff like that.

Marky - how fun ! U said u jumped in - who are we - all the bridesmaids ? Guests ? The happy couple ? How dressed up were you ?

As u can see I did get a fun swim after the prom. But it was just me and three of my friends, not the whole prom! Anyhow we'd fun ¨it felt like a real thrill jumping in like that :) It was of course a bit heavy to swim but not that hard. The first girl just walked in on the steps, the next one jumped off the side of the pool, I was number 3 and I went off the diving board and so did my best friend too. We all had our prom dresses on. Marsha, the first girl in, had a straight red and silver dress and she had to take off her shoes as they were not hers, she'd borrowed them from her sister. The rest of us kept our heels on as well. Only me and my best friend were crazy enough to bring our purses in as well. Anyhow, we all had a blast !

Hi Lynn
it soud that you and your friends had very fun blast. Did you and your friend take off stuff from yours purses or leave it inside?

At my party to the poll went only bride and groom with their 3 bridesmaids. One of them was I. The bride has white satin and lace floor leght gown with huge skirt and long trail, white satin pumps, white stockings and veil. Groom was in black tux. We had pink sorbet floor lenght princess line dress with spaghetti straps, satin cuff at neckline, beaded trim and sweep train, matching pumps and purses. We go to the pool by steps like when we go to the church with music and other guests applauses us. Only me take my purse with my stuff inside with me in. Other has only fowers.

Hi Marky, well it sounds like a fun wedding ! Was it all planned like this from the start then ? Or did they do it as a suprise ? How did they start it ? Did they stay in or just go in out ? Did they take their shoes off first or keep them on ? It definitely sounds like a great way to end a wedding, but I guess it would be pretty rare for that to actually happen. Please do tell more about it all !

As for our post prom thing, well I'd already taken out my phone since I'd made a couple of calls to other friends that night; other stuff stayed inside my purse. The other girl had her stuff inside as well, but she'd a very small purse so obviously she couldn't have all that much in there.

Hi,
it was unplanned and it was a surprize for everybody. When I find that there is pool I said others (bride, groom and others bridesmaids) about my idea go to the pool and they said that it sound very funny and agreed. Everybody kept their shoes on, but only me take my purse in. Other bridesmaids left their purses on the table. When we was in a few girls and boys followed us and we spend in the pool great time.

Marky, how fun that others followed you all in there too! How many were there that dared to go for it ? Were they as dressed up as you lot were ? Did the wedding gown and your dresses and shoes survive the swim ok ?

Yesterday I spoke with the bride and she told me that all survive as well as my. Only some of stuff in my purse didn't survive. And what yours dress, shoes and purse? Which type of dress and purse you had?

Marky, they all waded in or ? How did the bride react when you suggested a swim ? Shocked or not ? Did she worry about her dress or her shoes or so ?

I'd the dress I mentioned earlier on here, not the extremely formal historic style one but the one for the awards night. With it I'd white pumps with about 3 inch heels and with a little flower sort of on the top and a white purse with gold streaks and golden rails on the top, hanging in a golden chain off my shoulder. What kind did you have ?

Hi Lynn,

When I proposed go in completely dressed the bride said that it is very funny idea go to the pool like when we go to the church, agreed and didn't care about her gown or shoes.

Others, who followed us, jump off the side of the pool.

I had pink satin purse with thin silver chain and silver rails on the top. When I go in it hanging off my shoulder. When we was in one off others bridesmaids warn me that I have my purse and I do like I was surprised and said that I forgot leaved it. And what you and your friend? How others react when you and your friend took yours purses in?

Marky, well when I went in it was just me and my friends there, not a whole group. When I went up on the diving board one of them warned me "hey, you've still got your purse on" but I just said ok and they all laughed. But then the girl who went in after me (she was the last one in) decided to bring hers in as well.

Were the bride and groom the first ones to go in ? It's daring of her to go in in her wedding gown ! Did she have a fancy/expensive one ? Hi hi, I think that would be a fun thing to do if I get married some day :)
How about you ?

Hi Lynn,
yes, they was first. First went bride and groom hand to hand and we followed them. The music played wedding-march. As I write before the bride has very expensive white satin and lace floor leght gown with huge skirt with rings under and long trail, white satin pumps, white stockings, veil and flowers in her hand. It was very funny.
I also in the pool tryed refined my make-up with wet stuff from my purse.

I love the water so I think I do it at my wedding day to. It is fun go to the water completely dressed in my best clothes, pumps and with my purse as well.

I stumbled onto this cool forum by accident! I started a new job recently, and at my first trip away from home I ended up being thrown into a hotel pool with all my clothes on in front of about a dozen people. I was wearing an expensive business suit, heels, tights, purse, jewelry, the works!!! It was sooo funny for everyone who watched me go in! It caught mt totally by surprise since I didn't expect it. I had a really good laugh about it.

Hallo Alison,

I am from the Netherlands and I discovered this site by surfing on the net. I really like to swim fully clothed en get wet in several ways.
It started by swimming in jeans and T-shirt, but I discovered it brings more fun to swim in special clothes like gowns and businesssuits. Youre story really turned me on I would love to have more of this kind of experiences. In summer I take my chances and swim as much as possible fully clothed in lakes and pools. But very often they look at you very strange when you ask if it is possible to swim fully clothed in a pool. I was glad to read that there are more girls who love this sensational feeling of getting wet
in clothes.

bye, bye

Alison, sounds like they gave you a good introduction to your new job ! How did it all happen - they just pushed you in all of a sudden or what ? Did all your stuff dry out ok or did you have any trouble afterwards ?

Sanne, yes it's for sure wilder to go in like that all dressed up :) That's why it was SO much fun doing it after our prom, in my prom gown and everything and why I kept even my purse along - just made it all a bit more crazy :) Have you tried getting wet that dressed up as well ? Do you just get your clothes wet, or also shoes, purse and everything ? I'm sure that if it's at a beach or a public pool people will give you some funny looks. When we did it after our prom it was more private, just me and my friends were there (plus my folks) and since were all doing it none of us could think it was weird or anything!

Hi Lynn,

yes,I did swim with my clothes and also my shoes on.Complete with purse I never did but it seems very exiting to me. Great that your prom was such a succes and that you have friends who did the same thing. To be honest, there are not many people who know about this passion of mine only my best friend Suzy, but she never joined me on my swimmingexperiences. What do your folks think about it? I think my folks wouldn't understand it.
I think it is more fun to swim fully clothed together than alone but until now I never met someone who would do it with me.
Only last summer there was a woman on the beach who had no swimsuit with her. I was right in front of her walking slowly into the water with my shoes, tight jeans and shirt. I splashed a little around and then she also came in a little bit until the lower part of her dress got wet. She looked at me and I teased her a little by splashing, and laughing at her. I noticed that she looked around and than decided to come into the water also. She swam in her black long dress and it looked great. Before I had the opportunity to talk to her, her daughter about the age of 12 appeared and asked: Mom, what are you doing? A little bit ashamed she stepped out off the water. A few minutes later she drove on in her car, soaking wet behind the wheel!!!
In wintertime it is always much more trouble to find a place to swim fully clothed. I often asked in many pools if it was possible to swim fully clothed, but they all refused.
You are right Lynn, it is easier when you have a much more private place. Where did you do it after you prom?

Sanne, have you ever done it really all dressed up like that, long gown, heels and all ? I feel it's just wilder and more fun that way... Yes after the prom it was in private, just me and my friends at our pool at home, after we'd left the prom early as our bf/dates turned out to be bad that night :( My folks were there too, but a little in the background sort of. They just laughed and thought we were a bit crazy but they said it was ok, nothing dangerous and much better than getting drunk or something :)

Lynn, my dip in the pool was quite spontaneous. Our group wanted to check out the pool for later. I made the mistake of saying out loud that I'd love to go in. Next thing I know, I was being carried to the edge. I thought they were just kidding around, since I was fully clothed in my really nice clothes. When I came up out of the water I was in total shock. Instead of being mad, I really thought it was lots of fun. I wouldn't normally have gone in on my own. All of the spectators got a really good laugh at my expense too. I didn't even get to change before going out to dinner, but I did get a towel and a blanket. My navy pinstriped suit didn't shrink, but it's all wrinkled and discoloured fron chlorine. My shoes, sweater, tights appear bleached but otherwise OK.

Sanne, just an idea: Instead of asking to go into the pool fully clothed, you should 'accidentally' fall in or have someone push you in. My swim was way more fun than I ever imagined. I never got my prom dress wet. That would have been fun. I'm going to a friend's wedding in November, and my sister is a bridesmaid. Maybe I should arrange to get her pushed into going into the pool later!

Hi Sanne,

you mentioned, that you have been rejected to swim fully clothed in public pools, but I had a positive experience earlier this summer. I went by bicycle to a public swimming pool and also asked at the entrance, if its allowed to swim in my clothes. The women at the cash desk said, that it would be ok, but she looked at my also that strange way. Anyway, it was pure fun, inside I met 2 friends of mine and we had a really great time.

Hallo Simone,

Sounds great, what you described. What did you wear that day?

Alison,

A really good idea, thank you. Maybe it is good opportunity for you at your friends wedding. Wish you good luck.

Lynn,

I did swim once in a long gown ( black, I think that always looks great) but no heels and purse. When I have the opportunity I am really gonna try it because you are right, it seems much wilder to me to.I mean, swimming in very nice clothes gives me even a much more naughty feeling than swimming in casual wear.
Although, swimming in tight jeans is also great to me.
What do you girls do in wintertime ?
Swimming in an inside-pool or what?

Hi Sanne,

I remember that day in the public pool I was wearing blue 501 for women jeans and a yellow blouse with underwear. At the pool side I met my friends and it was thrilling to go into the water with all my clothes on. Swimming in my jeans is really a passion of mine and it was just great to go into the pool in front of everyone. My friends didn´t mind, I guess they know that I like it, because they see me mostly like that when we are the beach or so. After the swim I kept my jeans and all on until I went home.

There are not many women around that share my passion, I guess, so I would really love to hear from you!

I went swimming with my b/f after prom in a long black evening gown complete with makeup, jewlery, handbag, pumps, and opera gloves. My b/f wore white tie and tails. It was the most romantic experience I have ever had as we danced in the pool fully clothed!

Hi Jake, it sounds just like after my prom...except we missed out on the romantic part as our bf had gotten all drunk, so it was just us 4 girls, but we'd fun anyhow. Still, yours sound better - dancing in the pool like that must be fun! How did you go in ? Was it just u 2 or other couples also ? What style of gown, shoes and purse did you have ? It was so fun doing that after our prom, a bit crazy to go in with everything like that but that's why it was fun :)

Simone, well even if it might be fun to swim in jeans as well I think it's more fun all dressed up - it's more crazy and more fun if you're in your prom dress, heels, purse and the whole lot :) I'm surprised they let you swim in your clothes at the public pool - most pools are so strict about rules and stuff. Our after prom thing was at our own private pool so there nobody could say anything (it was ok w my folks).

Hi Simone,

Thank you for your story. It sounds really exciting to me. I always keep my clothes on after the swim and let them dry, because walking around totally soaked gives me also a good feeling. The drive to swim fully clothed is still since my youth. I remember a lady tv-host on Dutch television jumping fully clothed into a pool. That was the first time i became these trill to do the same. The first time I was at a public pool and there where two girls clothed in the pool, they had a lot of fun and i was sitting on the edge with shorts and a T-shirt. One of the girls asked if I came in and I answered that I didn,t have other clothes with me. Who cares, they asked and at the same time I decided just to do it. It was really a great feeling and after that time i still went a little bit further. Swim in jeans, swimming fully clothed, swimming with my shoes on, and when I read this great pages, I found out the great feeling of going in with beautifull expensive clothes. There are not many people who know about my passion, but every summer I swim as much as possible fully clothed. I also love pictures myself or other girls doing it, and I must say it seems to me to have much more fun when you are with more people together. But the problem is that I don,t really dare to ask someone. When I swim alone I always chose places where I am sure that I wont meet people I know.

Bye, Sanne

Hi Sanne,

I read that you live in The Netherlands, just like I do. In what part do you live and where are you going to swim? Please let me know. I'm just curious...

A few years ago I organised a clothed benefit-swimparty. About 50 people, mostly girls, went fully clothed into a swimming pool. Even a local newspaper wrote a story about this. We picked up about 150 Euro for the Red Cross and you can imagine that we had great fun! I went in with a nice business suit with hig heels and it felt really great.

Hi Sanne,

I also got into swimming in my clothes when i was young. The first time was when me and my best friend were walking to his house after school and we took a short cut and it went past a small pond and it was mid spring. We stopped to look in the water and saw tadpoles and we wated to catch some so we waded in in my long school pants and shirt shoes and all. Then i decided that the water was so warm i said the heck with it im going all the way in and we did after that as i was growing up i would jump in the bath or shower and still do. but i really love wet under wear specialy on woman even wet dresses. I was wondering if you are single hope to hear from you soon. James

Hi Francesca,

Yes, I live in the Netherlands, I am from the south, the aerea between Eindhoven and Den Bosch ,thats also the place where I take my swims. What a pitty I didn't hear something about the benefit swimparty you wrote about because I would be there for sure if I have had the chance. What local paper wrote about it ? Are the pictures anywhere of this swimparty? Must have been great fun, I wish I would be there! In what part of the Netherlands do you live ? And what means ( TV) at your name ? Sorry if I am to curious.

Hi Sanne,

That's funny. I live in a small village north of Eindhoven, so we live in the same part of Noord-Brabant.

The swimparty was about 10 years ago and took place in Bosbad Hoeven (near Etten-Leur) in the western part of Noord-Brabant. I remember that it was De Stem that wrote about it. I must have somewhere private pictures of it, but as I already mentioned, it is long ago. However, maybe it is time to organize a new, similar party. Who will say? I will think about it.

Don't be afraid that you will be too curious. I like to give you the answers to your questions. TV is short for transvestite. I'm a 100% heterosexual man who loves to wear and get wet in nice woman's clothes. But I also love to see real woman wearing beautiful feminine clothes and getting wet in it.

I am wondering about you how old you are. And do you like to swim in a swimming pool or in a lake or something. And are you swimming then alone or together with others. And what do you say to "strangers" when they see that you're soaked?

Now I'm the one who is very curious....

Looking forward to your reply. And let me know if you want to mail directly to me. Communicate in our own language is much easier.

Francesca

I have adored ALL of the stories here, my wife and I love to swim formal, we had a dunk tank at our wedding and went in fully attired. We often travel and swim formally, each year we renew our "wetting vows" in a pool somewhere, usually Las Vegas. If you like wetlook formal attire go to my website, its all free. http://members.tripod.com/~GaryKay

Hi James

I have always got wet in my clothes, when I was younger,I would get punished for it,so I learned to get wet by accident, ie. falling in , caught in the rain ect.Under my cheer outfit is just my bra & panties, sometimes pantihose. i also love getting wet in short skirts & dresses and then going out. I never went swimming in a long dress or gown, sounds like fun!!!!!!

OMG... just found this thread. I do it all the time. I work in a very casual office setting and usually wear a simple cotton dress or shirt/blouse, sometimes shorts or slacks and a top. I face a 20 mile drive home every day and in the afternoon heat. I park the car in the drive walk around back and jump in the pool to cool off...luckly no nosey neighbors. Thought I was the only one to do this stuff.

Hi Sanne,

another time earlier this year I was renting a paddle-boat on a lake with my friend. She wore still her business suit right after work and I had my middle blue 501 " for women" on, which are no longer in poroduction at Levis by the way. This time I gues my friend had no intention of getting wet but I was really waiting for something to happen. We paddeld near a grass shore and took a break and I hoped that the boat would drift away a little by the wind. After a short while I saw it slowing moving back into the lake away from us. We looked at each other and it was totally clear that either of us had to in and get it. I wore a blouse, which I tied at the front before I slowly went in. It was so thrilling to do this in front of passing people and my friend! When I finally got it, I was about waist deep in and I decided that it wouldnt matter anyway, how I wet I will get, so I went in a little deeper until I was totally soaked. I always wear underwear and bra because it is just great for me to go in "as I am". I just left my clothes on until we gave the boat back at the hiring point and went home.

Hi All,
I just discovered this forum and I am fascinated by it. I am 26 now, but when I was 15 on a whim I took off my shoes and jumped into a pool dressed in a dress, regular underwear and pantyhose. I was quite surprised at how good it felt, how erotic it felt.
Since then, I have taken little swims when ever I have the opportunity wearing whatever I have on. I convinced a friend of mine to try this and she found that she enjoyed the same erotic feelings that I did. Now we get together for swims in a local hotel pool dressed in whatever we happen to be wearing. I've never tried swimming in a formal gown, though, but I've worn just about every other kind of everyday and "good" clothing.
I thought that maybe we were the only girls that liked this, but I have recently found that there are other gals who enjoy this, although I think not too many.

Hi Heather,

I also love do wear underwear, bra and panties, mostly in white and a blouse when I take a dip with my jeans. I love to go to public places and move right in slowly, just as if would be the most normal thing on earth. I love the feeling when the water reaches my underwear! Without underwear it´s no thrill at all, how about you? In wintertime this is sure more difficult, what do you do in wintertime?

Hey all,
I have found this forum and maybe you can help me out. I am invited to a party with a pool next week. The dress code is casual.
I thought about wearing a kneelength jeans skirt to start with. But I have never been wet fully clothed, so I am a bit scared. Is a jeans skirt a good choice? Anybody experience? I know that I am probably at the wrong forum, but I can only ask!
Do I have to wear swimwear under my clothes, so that I can remove them afterwards?
If everybody gets in, how do I get in? Do I have to remove my boots? Aren't they get ruined?
A lot of questions for my first post here!

Thanks for the advice

Hi, Jessie

i think the jeans skirt is a good choice. depending on how daring you feel, a darker blouse is probably better unless you don't care if your blouse becomes see-through. You would not normally wear a swimsuit beneath because you'll be fully clothed most of the night, unless theparty gets wild. Hope this helps! Feel free to write if you need more!

Hi Heather,

I have tried to send you an email, but it did not work, I would need you e-mail address. Anyway it is good idea to exchange our experiences as emails! I have been going into lakes and the open sea many many times in my life with blue jeans and full underwear etc. What´s also cool, is to tie the ends of a white blouse before going into the water, because it looks and feels sexy and the bra is nicely visible.

Love to hear from you, Simone

Thanks for the advice Heather. But I still have some more questions:

Why is the jeans skirt a good choice?
Have you swam in a jeans skirt before?
I think that I going for a black blouse, yes! What shoes do you advise me to wear? I thought about boots, but will they survive? Will I have time to remove them first?
You suggest me to wear underwear instead of swimwear under my clothes?

I really hope that I am not going to end up in the water, but I can better be prepared.

hi, jessie

the jeans skirt will be a good choice if its a light denim. the length is good if you don't want much of your legs to show. i have swum in this kind of skirt before and if it's light, it's great.
a light black blouse would also be great--less see-through. the boots are hard to know about because so many are now waterproof. if you are concerned about that, i wouldn't wear them and just go with disposable flat shoes.

i'm not sure what your friends are like, so if you are self-conscious, perhaps swimwear would be better than underwear. i always go with underwear, but i love doing this and have done it for quite sometime. Must be the European in me!

have fun and let me know if you have more questions!

Hi Simone,

Yes I am still there, I mean I am back because I went Spain for a week. I had a great time and of course I catched the opportunity to get wet again.
On a evening when my friend Suzy and I got back from the nightlife we teased each other at the side of the pool by splashing. it ended up fully clothed in the pool and this time Suzy joined me what she never did before. She knew about my feelings about wetlook but never did it with me before. it was agreat experience. Together it is so much more fun then alone. I was wearing a black blouse and white jeans, of course with underwear. I agree that it feels better with underwear.
It felt and looked great, but my jeans became verry see-through. I was wearing a thong which was very visible now. But when Suzy attended me to the sight I felt really sexy. I asked Suzy if she would do it next summer in the Netherlands again but she sais she didn't know it for sure. In spain it was different for her. We went to our hotel rooms completely soaked and in the elevator we met a couple that looked very strange at us. But we laughed and in the end they laughed with us but they couldn,t understand when we told them what we did.

Heather, I also love the feeling of wet jeans the most, I don't know why. But swimming in gowns makes me also very high.

Jessie,

Just let it happen. You will love the feeling of swimming fully clothed. A jeans or a jeansskirt would be great. You can keep your boots on, I very often do and it makes the feeling even more sensational.
Let us know how the party was !!

Hi Heather,

It seems that you like to swim in your clothes. To me it will be the first time, I am only 21. But I think that I ll avoid getting into the pool.

My skirt is not that light, it is rather heavy denim, but I do have a ankle lenght in light denim. Would it be better to choose the long skirt?

Would you like to tell me about you swim in jeans skirt, because maybe that makes me feel more comfortable with idea that I might end in the water.

I think a heavy denim skirt would make swimming difficult for you should you end up in the water, but it sounds as though you want to avoid that, whcih is fine. The ankle length would work better, i think, and you'd be more comfortable.

My many swims in denim skirts have been fun. I love the feeling of wet denim and the way it floats around you while you stand in the water. I've also been to a number of pool parties in germany and scandinavia, where people walk or swim or just stand around in their clothes in the pool, often drinking some wine and talking. it's very liberating and great in the summer! And it need not, in fact often does not, lead to sex or exposrue of any kind. so enjoy your party whatever. please write to tell me how it went!

Sanne
thanks for your story. would love to hear more!

Heather,

You really make me curious 'bout the feeling. I have just ended talking to a friend of mine and she told me that she wants to go into the water, and she will take me with her. You have made me feel already some comfortable about it.

Can I send you a mail with some questions? Or I am anoying you?

Do I have to take my boots off or let on? How is swimming in boots?
I`ve been also think about my purse and all stuff in it; my wallet, phone, make up, diary, etc... should I bring my purse in to?

Thank's for the reply.

Dear Jessie,
Don't skip this opportunity to get wet. You will most enjoy it. Have one of your friends take pictures of you. Later you will get courage and determination from them before making important decisions. You can believe me, regarding my age I could be your father.
Best regards,

Jane, well if you're going swimming in your clothes, why not keep your boots on as well ? I've never tried getting boots wet by I did keep my shoes on when I went in in my prom dress - if I was crazy enough to go in with my prom dress on why not go all the way ? Same I kept my purse with me in the water - just to be wilder. I didn't have my phone in there though like you said; I guess a phone can't handle water very well but it's of course up to you how wild that you want to go. I just had make up and stuff like that in there when I did it. Anyhow, have fun !!

Dear Jane,
Just jump rite in, in regards to your boots you can all ways take them off once you are in the pool if you find you don't like swimming in them. As to the sweater and scurt combination they sound realy nice and perfict for taking a dip in. If you would like to chat more about it please feel free to contact me.

Hi Jessie and Heather,

One thing to remember is that fabrics, especially denim, gets heavy and also a bit saggy when wet. So you might want to go for tigher skirts to stop them falling off or riding up around your waist (especially if you are going to be jumping in the pool!). Personally, I wear long jeans whenever there is a chance I might get wet. Bootcut jeans are nice when wet - I think the flapping of the wet jeans around the lower legs and ankles is a cute look, especially when I am wearing flip flops.

Hi Lynn
thank you for your reply. It must be very crazy swim in yours prom dress. Did you prepare for it or it was a spur moment? Did you took off some stuff from your purse before it? I thing leave in everything without checks is wilder, but I'm afraid about damages my purse, some my stuff inside and my boots.

Jane, I hadn't planned that my prom would end in the water but when I and my friends ended up at our place after the prom, after that our dates/bfs had gotten drunk and we'd to leave them we just decided to do it.
No I didn't take any stuff out of my purse, but then I didn't have things like my phone or my camera in there at the time. It was mainly make up and similar, some of it got ruined, some of it survived.

I don't think that your boots will get damaged by just getting wet, probably not your purse either unless it rusts if it's got metal in it or if it gets stained by disolved make up or so. I got some of that inside my purse, some black stains and so. Just like you said, it's wilder not to check what's in there but then you might damage some stuff, so it's up to whichever you want to go for. At that time I didn't care, I wanted to have fun and if something got damaged so what ? I just got up there in my prom dress, heels, purse and all and went in. I knew that some of the stuff was supposedly not to get wet (e.g. my shoes)and I didn't know how my dress would take it either but that just added to being wild.

When taking a dip with clothes on, I mostly enjoy the fact of doing it in my totally regular clothes, I mean, with no preparation at all. Just see the "chance" and get right in! Like Anna, I like it best with long blue jeans though and all.

Jane and Jessie,
Just my "two cents worth":
I wouldn't worry too much about the weight of your clothing. While you are in the water clothes tend to be somewhat neutral in bouyancy. Heavier clothing will hold a lot more water when you get out of the pool however, and will then be much heavier.
To be completely "authentic" I'd wear whatever underwear and stockings I might normally wear, but not a swimsuit.
If you are going in just to be "wild" you should do it as spontaneously as you can and wear everything, boots and all. Taking your purse might add to the "wildness" of it all, but if it were me, I'd prepare the contents of my purse before going to the party so as not to lose something expensive like a phone or camera.
I personally don't care to wear footwear when I am swimming clothed, but as one other person on this forum remarked, you can always take the boots off later. One thing I've noticed with boots is that if you step into the water slowly there is a bit of a nice sensuous feeling of expectation stepping into the water before the boots fill, and a really nice feeling again just as the water starts to pour in and fill your boots.
I hope you have fun, and perhaps even find that it is a pleasant experience, worth repeating!
Missy

Hi Simone,
Good to read about you again. You are absolutely right. You got to take the chance, and do it quite spontaneously. I also like that the most. Sometimes when i jump or walk in I think I am going mad but the feeling of swimming in my clothes is so good that these thoughts soon disappear.
Last summer I was at a lake where it was not very full with people, there where two lady,s lying at the sand wearing bikinis. Of course I was in my jeans and black T-shirt and I got the need to get in the lake. In front of the two I got slowly into the water and swam around. When I got out I pulled at the soaking T-shirt and laughed at the two. They where also laughing and asked if it was good in the water. Oh yeah I said, why don,t you take a dip? We already did they said but we couldnt believe our eyes when we saw you walk in with your clothes on.Oh its so great I told them. You must try it once. Then they were whispering in each others ears and laughing. Then they stood up, got their jeans and blouse on and said: Well, you convinced us, we must be crazy!!! And then they got in and of course I joined them. Together it was really great. We swam about 15 minutes and then we got out , they took their stuff and left. I went back there many times but I never saw these girls again.

Well I think what I've got on makes a difference if I'm doing this. I do a lot of sailing in the summer and I end up in the water almost every day, often in jeans or shorts, T,sneakers and so. Sp getting wet is nothing really wild or odd for me. But after the prom it was different, when I was in my prom dress, satin heels, purse and the whole lot - that made it a wild thing and more of a thrill to jump in . sort of something you know is a bit crazy to do but that you still want to do anyhow.

hi there!

i'm reading this threat since quite a while now and i really like your stories. i introduced my girlfriend to swimming with clothes and she liked it from the beginning. especially with skirts and boots. meanwhile we do it as often as there is a possibility to get wet. that is at a lake most often or in the bathtub in winter. we'd like to go swimming at a pool but up till now there was no chance. but i'm shure that we will arrange it at our wedding (maybe in a few years :) ).

@jessie: did you go alone or did someone join you? were you wearing your boots and what do they look like? how were people reacting?

@jane: have you been to that party and did you get wet?

Hi sith and welcome to the group so to say... It sounds like you and your girlfriend are having fun together. Myself I've never tried with boots, mainly because I hardly ever wear boots at all, but with shoes (heels) yes. I suppose you mean boots w a heel, not rainboots... Have you done it many times ?

Yeah I'd say a pool is much more fun than just a bathtub. I guess a lake is ok if it's just not too cold in the water, but sure, a pool is the best! Also a pool is usually much warmer than a lake so you can stay in longer ! After our prom we really stayed in for quite a while, also going in and out a few times. It was great fun, and a way to go wild, as we knew we were swimming in clothes that weren't supposed to get wet either... I guess with skirts & boots like u said it's no such risk, they should dry out ok afterwards.

Your idea of getting a pool for your wedding when that day comes sounds fun too ! Do you mean to go in your wedding outfits ? That would be fun, even wilder than when we did it in our prom dresses. Do u think ur girlfriend would be wild enough to jump in in her wedding gown, heels and everything ?

the boots are all with heels of course. she likes the whole outfit for a swim sexy and a little bit elegant. she says that she feels more sexy herself with her wet clothes then. we did it many times and the clothes and boots always dried out ok even though some pairs have already been 5 or 6 times in the water. there are often people at that lake and of course they are astonished to see that but if you look at them they seem to be emberassed and walk away.

the reasons you named are exactly the ones why we'd like to go into a pool. we already talked about that idea of doing it at our wedding with all the guests and she said she would go in with her dress and heels. sometimes she is even more daring than me when it comes to getting wet in public.

i was a bridesmaid at a wet wedding a few years ago and we all went in the pool at the reception and stayed in for quite sometime. some of us went in and out a few times. We even pulled a few of the waiters and waitresses in! It was great fun, and we all still have our dresses; they are in great shape.

Sith, fun to hear of your plans ! When you say you plan on doing it at your wedding with all the guests, do you mean that you and your bride will do it in front of all your guests or that they will all be going in too ? I've heard of pool weddings and it sounds like so muich fun! One good thing too if it's your wedding is that it's once in a lifetime - you don't need to worry about your dress, even if you have a very expensive one, as you won't need it again anyhow.

Heather, please tell us a bit more about that wedding ! Who went in - was it the bridesmaids only or the whole wedding party or just everyone ? What did you all wear ? Was it planned like that or did it just happen ?

It was a lot of fun doing it after our prom, but I guess I won't be going to any more proms anyhow... but I might well do something similar some other time if the chance comes around.

With pleasure!

The whole party went in. It was not planned--it was a bit spontaneous. It was a rather warm day, and in those gowns, well, you know how hot they can get. I love swimming in clothes, so it was not at all difficult for me. It was great fun watching my friends get wet, and enjoy it, for the first time. the guys wore normal tuxedos. We were wearing long blue gowns with heels to match. We did not take our purses in, and some of us took off our hose in the water.

I am also fascinated by your interest, Lynn. You seem to have greatly enjoyed your first time and seem interested in finding other opportunities. Don't be shy! Go for it!

Heather, if it wasn't planned how did it all get started then ? Did the bride and groom go in as well ? You said the whole party went in , you mean the wedding party then, not the guests ?

As for me, well this time wasn't my first one. I did it at my prom last year as well. This year things got a bit different at prom as my bf flipped out but that's a different matter. Yes it's only those times that I've been wet all dressed up like that, but in casual stuff that happens all the time when I go sailing. But yes I think it's fun to do it dressed up like that, an extra thrill somehow.

I know the feeling when a bf flips out, believe me! LOL!

Some of us bridesmaids noticed the pool after the reception started, and we were already hot from being in a crowded reception room and from dancing so we thought what the heck? We got some of the grooms' men to go along and some walked in, some jumped in. I dove in. The bride and groom walked over and also decided what the heck and jumped in. It was kind of late in the reception, so it wasn't quite a big deal for most of the other guests. A few did jump in, mostly other girls. We stayed in there quite awhile.

I also love sailing and never wear my bikini because i love to feel the spray and the sea on my clothes. I guess I just love water!

Heather it must have looked so funny when the bride & groom jumped in ! What kind of a dress did she have ? Heels as well ? Was he still in his tux ? Were there many of you who were bridesmaids that time ?

Yes my bf flipped out at the prom and so did the bfs or dates of three of my best friends - that's why the four of us ended up back at my house afterwards after we'd had to dump the guys that night.

You dove in - ioff the board or off the side ? I guess it must feel funny diving like that - did you have high heels on ? If you did I guess diving off would be very different from when you normally do it!

i'd like to do it in front of all the people and whoever of the guests likes to join us is welcome. as lynn said it's once in a lifetime and it's just YOUR party. so why not do what you like?

this year we went to a friends wedding and we wanted to go into a (outside) pool that was nearby. my girl was wearing a black sleeveless top, black long satin gloves, a silver satin skirt, stockings and delicate black pointy heels. i was in a black suit, dark red shirt and black dress shoes but when we came there the pool was covered with same plastic stuff so that we couldn't jump in. it was a real shame that we couldn't take that chance.

@rachel: what are your boots and gloves like?

hi, lynn

her gown had a lace bodice and not a very long train. she had taken off her slip earlier in order to enjoy the dancing. she was as beautiful wet as she is dry! she did keep her heels on, as did most of us. the groom had taken off his tux jacket, but had everything else on. there were five bridesmaids who went in. i dove off the side with my heels on. it was a great feeling to knife into the water dressed like that!

Heather, that really sounds like a fun wedding !! And a pretty rare one I'd guess.

Sith, that time at that wedding, it sounds as if you were both all set for a nice swim - too bad that they'd covered the pool ! But maybe you can pick up on where you left it - dress up in the same outfits again, have a nice romantic evening together and then end it with a swim, if you can find a good place for it ?

Hi everyone.
I just started to read the thread today and I found similar minds tonight. I'm half way through that story sharing, I printed it out and was it reading in a restaurant while having dinner. I just came home, fully dressed (Allen Edmonds shoes, just jeans, shirt, woolen sweater) opened a bottle of wine (-of topic peed fully dressed) and took a long bubble bath fully dressed). Could not have my coat on as I only have one here and we have -2.
I'm an old "wetter" and had many many experiances so far.

there were a lot of discussions on destroying cloth. My point is - rewearing it. I have the chance to work very causal but I just had to wear a suit again which I weared last time when I & my GF had on when we had a swimm in the ocean last time. A black Boss suit where I also was wearing other Allen Edmonds shoes, white shirt no tie. It's a great moment of rememberance when you sitll feel the sand in the pockets - even after dry cleaning.

Happy to share 35 years of getting wet in many ocations and cloth.

Torrie: don't do what my parents did in the early 70s (they were hippies) they put my to the shink 'cause they found wet cloth everywere. Even my 1st Communion dress....

Stay wet

Rachel, I would guess people were VERY surprised when you asked them to step aside so that you could get into the water ! ? How did people around react ? I don't think I would have dared to do something like that in such a public place - when we went swimming after our proms it was just with my best friends. What did you wear at the time ?

Hey,
Any of you guys in or around Northern Ireland? I haven't found anyone here into getting wet with their clothes on... It's hard to find places to do it, cos all the pools are owned by the local councils and I usually have to settle for going for long walks in the rain in my best suits...
Anyone in this neck of the woods (or knows anyone) drop a line to my hotmail address by clicking on my name.
Hope to hear from someone soon...

ON WETTING SHOES AND BOOTS

Girls (and guys interested in this), I've swam and showered in clothes, and shoes (& once in boots) a lot. I just wanted to set the record straight since there is some concern about possible damage.

The material of the shoe is the most important. Patent leather can take a full wetting. If left to dry within the house it can dry as good as new within 24 hours and you can wear the heels to work the next day like nothing ever happened. On the other hand, if you wear pumps made of velvet or linen, etc., the fact that the shoes change color slightly when you wear them in the water is a bad sign. They may survive, but they may only be usable at home and not in public (as the may become discolored).

On the topic of bridesmaid and wedding shoes: These are often pumps that are dyed to match the dresses or the decorations at the wedding reception. Don't do it! Dye will run, and you will end up with either white or a non-descriptive hodgepodge of color on what were once beautiful shoes.

What applies to shoes can apply to boots as well. Dress boots made of patent leather should not take too much punishment. Many are made to withstand some water, as one may walk in the rain or show in them. However keep in mind that when they were made it was intended that they would get wet on the outside only, and here you are submerging them so that water runs freely into them from the top.

If you are planning on rewearing good high heeled boots after they were submerged, try to find a way to let them dry upside down. Otherwise, water can be trapped in them, and the shoe portion may dry a lot slower than the shaft of the boot.

Platform shoes and boots are another issue. While sexy and easy to walk and stand in, the platform itself is usually hollow inside. Water inevitably gets into this hollow area. Even after you let them dry for a few days, the hollow platform may still contain some trapped water. Again if you wearing these only at home after they are gotten wet, it may not be an issue (although there may still be some leakage which could get your carpet or sheets wet). Don't plan on wearing them out in public unless you want people to hear a mysterious sloshing sound as you walk!

I hope this information has been helpful.

One other note of caution. High heeled shoes and boots, no matter what the material, can be deadly on the surface of a bathtub. Above all, when doing this in the shower or bath, STAND ON A MAT!! We don't want to lose you. A story about a twisted ankle or worse would detract from this wonderful and fun activity.

Karen

Here's a little more on getting high heeled shoes or boots wet.

Besides the shoe or boot material, another important aspect is the heel itself. It is best if this is a thick heel, possibly reinforced. The first time the shoe gets wet it may weeken the heels slightly, although not dangerously enough to throw out the pair of shoes. Subsequent wettings may weekend it further, and in time the heel could feel loose. When that happens, refrain from walking in the shoes anymore, and either ditch them or confine their wear to bed. You can buy sexy heels on the Internet that either have a thicker heel, or a platform, to make the shoe both stronger and easier to walk in. The thicker the heel, the more it will withstand repeated wettings. A thin stilletto heel may not survive too much abuse.

The very popular ankle boots that are worn primarily in cooler months with pants and jeans usually have a very thick heel, so these would certainly be acceptable if wearing jeans into the pool or tub.

Karen-K. you sound like you've tested all kinds of shoes for this! Do you mean dressy shoes or more casual ones ? As for me it's been either or, I've been wet so many times when I've been sailing, but then I've mostly had sneakers n and those can stand it fine...just wash out the salt afterwards, but then also twice really dressed up, after my 2 proms. I've never gotten boots wet so I've no idea how that works.

I'm not sure you're right about what you said about bridesmaids/wedding/formal shoes. You said "don't do it". I know that the dyes can run. That happened to me once when I had blue dyed pumps on - I didn't really get wet but the ground was wet from rain and that was enough to ruin the shoes - they got a white line like half an inch up and two slightly different colors. But one of my friends had almost identical shoes when we jumped in after the prom and they survived fine. I think that if you get them completely soaked right away you're less likely to have trouble with them.

On the other hand, if I go wild like after the prom I think part of the fun is that you just go for something crazy you wouldn't do normally and that your clothes or shoes might get ruined is just part of it. I didn't wear dyed pumps now after our last prom but if I had I would have gone in with them anyhow, whether they could take it or not. It's same like that I brought my purse in...not so practical but just adding to being wild. I can see though that if you do this kind of stuff often you must think more like what you said, see what can take it or not. If it's only at very special occasions, like after my prom, then it doesnät matter if my stuff gets ruined, I could easily afford that.

Lynn,

It would be quite an expensive interest if we constantly purchased various type of high heeled pumps and boots just to ruin and discard them. Usually I want to know that I can wear the heels again for more "normal" reasons (to work, to the mall, etc.).

I admit I have found out the hard way (not really doing a formal test) and ruined some shoes. I wanted to spare others from the horrible feeling of watching dye going down the drain as the shoes are permanently discolored. Remember they were bought and dyed to match a particular outfit, and that match will no longer exist unless you buy and dye another pair of shoes.

I don't doubt that your friend wore dyed heels into the pool and they survived. Who knows, maybe it was a very strong dye? Maybe the level of chlorine in the pool saved the shoes? Perhaps if she wore them into a hot tub where the chemicals are more concentrated, the shoes would have had a different fate.

You asked about dressy vs. casual shoes. For me, and those with whom I have done this, we prefer what I would consider to be dressy and sexy - that is, closed toe pumps with spiked or thick heels, or else platform pumps. A sandal type shoe, or one with the toes exposed kind of kills the wetting sensation; you might as well be barefoot (yuck!). Usually our heels are between 5 and 7 inches high. 4-inch and less are not really sexy and might as well be flats, although they are more practical for the novice and might go better with a nice prom, wedding, or bridesmaid dress. Any shoe 6 inches and above that I purchase is usually a platform, as it is impossible to walk or stand for a time in anything more than 5-1/2 inches. My boots are also in the same heel height range, and they vary from knee high to thigh high.

Some people do find the open sandal type high heeled shoes as sexy. And it may be sexy to wear them in the pool or shower as well. But you will miss the sensation of the water sloshing around inside them (or getting trapped in the hollow part of the platform as I said in an earlier message).

There is one style of high heeled boot that was once marketed by an Internet retailer as a "shower boot". The company that did this no longer calls it that, but one can still purchase it from a number of online sources. It has a spiky 5-inch heel, is thigh high, and has a rather wide shaft at the top. The material is such that it absorbs most of the water and it thus dries easily when the shower is over. I have worn my pair to work within 2 days of showering in them.

This is not to say that it might not be fun to shower in flats or mary-janes. You may very well enjoy that, especially if you really are young or are trying to "dress" young (such as wearing a schoolgirl type costume).

Karen, you seem to wear shoes that I could not even walk in :) When I say high heels I'm thinking of 3-4 inches but shoes like with 6-7 inches heels I haven't even seen and I'm sure I'd trip all the time if I tried something like that. I should say though that whatever the heels are that's the full height, as I don't like platforms at all - I hate them, didn't even wear them when they were in fashion some time back.

That time after the prom now, all our shoes survived fine. One of my friends took hers off though, as she'd borrowed them from her sister and didn't want to take the risk.

You're right that the dyed shoes are made to match the dress, but you only use shoes like that with really formal outfits, and in most cases you only wear them once anyhow. But of course, if you plan on using them many times you'd have to be more careful. Abd of course it would depend on whether my dress could survive the water; if not then it doesn't matter whether the shoes make it or not. But both my prom dresses survived ok. The first one I was pretty sure it could take it, but this second one my guess was it wouldn't, but still it did. Sometimes things survive more than what you'd expect. Other times it's the opposite, like that time when I ruined my shoes just because the ground was wet.

Just like you I prefer pumps to strappy shoes. I wore pumps both those times after our proms. Yes it feels funny walking around with your shoes all sloshy.

Well you'd obviously run into the problem with running dyes as you said the dyes were running down the drain. Did you get into a tub in your formal stuff or how did that happen ? If it had run that much when we jumped into the pool it would have looked funny, as we'd the lights on and I guess it would have been like a cloud around me :) For me that wouldn't have been a horrible feeling like you said though, I would just have laughed. Most of the time I'm pretty careful with stuff but that was not a time like that - we just decided to go wild!

Anyhow, I won't go to any more proms now, but maybe I might do something similar at some other occasion.

Lynn,

Platform heels are much easier to walk and stand in than spike heels. Nobody can walk in regular heels that are more than 5-1/2 inches without seriously damaging their feet and the muscles in their legs. Platform heels provide a hollow area under the arch of the foot that allows the angle of the foot to be comfortable while giving the wearer more height. For example, a six-inch heel shoe with a two-inch platform has the net comfort of wearing a four-inch heel. That said, the added height sometimes needs some getting used to.

As for not liking platforms, I can agree somewhat that they are not as sexy as pumps. Perhaps the shorter girl who dates somebody much taller might appreciate them since she will get the height with comfort as well. But if she wants to look more attractive, then go for the regular heels and be a little shorter than he is.

With me (and those I share this interest with) it was not really "formal wear" (like ballgowns, wedding, bridesmaid, etc), but rather business wear or casual stuff. I am talking tops, skirts, dresses of varying lengths, bra, panties, pantyhose or stockings with garterbelt or thigh high nylons. Most of these soakings took place in the shower, which in my home is large enough to accomodate a few people at once. We did try some wet fun in the backyard pool on a very hot summer night but we don't make a habit of that since we could draw the attention of neighbors even though my yard is fairly private.

But then all the stuff we have gotten wet has been washable and dryable in our own machines, so no trips to a dry cleaners with a lame explanation of how the clothes got wet or damp.

Dyed shoes or clothes would definitely have caused a colorful aura around you in a pool as soon as they got wet.

Karen

Yes you're of course right in that if you have 6" heels or like that they're impossible to walk in if you don't have platforms on them. But then, for me 3-4" is plenty enough...no need to go any higher !

Yes I can imagine there would have been a colorful cloud around me if I'd a dress (or shoes) that dyed off heavily. I noticed a little thing like that from my purse, as I'd my makeup inside and some of that dyed off a bit, but nothing major. I have one gown made of thick dark purple velvet and that one dyes off on my undies even when it's dry so I'm pretty sure that one would release loads of dyes if it got wet. But most dresses and gowns are not like that, both my prom dresses have survived fine anyhow. And as far as I know the other dresses were ok that time as well.

Hi Lynn its been ages since ive been here. The other day my wife and i were invited 2 a wedding and just after the ceremony while every one was still seated in the church a massive paint fight was surprisingly planned. Every body in the church got absolutly covered in red and yellow water paint FUN.

The scene sounds funny, but I'm pretty sure that you must be joking this time - NO church would allow that, not even with water paint, as it would ruin pews, carpets and a whole lot more. If it had been a beach or outdoor wedding I could have believed it - though I think very few couples would be daring enough to do something like that to their guests as you never know how people will react - if even just one or two get mad it would ruin the wedding. If the couple would do it to each other it would be a completely different matter though; I could see that happening.

I also find Trev's story a bit out of reach. There would no doubt be a lot of angry guests, not to mention members of the wedding party and the bride and groom themselves who would be ruining their clothing, and probably lose their deposits since it was rented.
