My name is Richie from Ft. Wayne. I have been taken modern dance for the last 6 years. About 2 months ago when I was practicing in my basement, my sister and one of her friends came downstairs in the middle of my routine. They watched and appluaded when I was done both saying that i was very good. I have only danced 2 times for an audience.
Then we went upstairs to get something to eat. When I went up to my room to change, they came out of my sisters room and ask if I would dance again, but I said I was done. Then she pulls out her old ballerina leotard, tights, and tutu and asked if I would dance in it for fun. I was embarassed and turned red, but inside I thought it would be funny too. I took the bag and went inside and put them on and told them I would meet them in the basement. I was so nervous i almost chickend out, but went downstairs and they started clapping. I danced a little and did a few bad pirouttes and said that was enough and ran back to my room. I was looking at myself in the mirror when they knocked so I opened the door and they said it was funny. They got me to laugh and go to my siters room and the put some lipstick and eye makeup on and tied my hair back. It was amazing and went to dance one more time.
I kept that outfit in my room closet and dressed in it every night before i went to bed for a week. When nobody was home i went to her room and tried on her fancy dress and high heels. Now I want a dress of my own but the tag in my sisters dress was only a tag for medium and I dont know what size I should order by a number. I saw a few I liked in here. Then I saw how many boys are here and now i really want one badly. What is a medium size in a number dress? HELP!

AWW---> How cute!
I use to dress my little brother up in my brownies uniform when i came home from Girl Scout meetings and stuff. He loved it and he looked the part.
A medium is about a size 7-8 in dress size. But try one on before you spend the money on your dress. Have fun.

My cousin and me used to dress up my little brother. It was fun. He made a very pretty girl and always thought he enjoyed it too. One halloween we dressed him up like a cheerleader complete with uniform stuffed bra, panties under the uniform bloomers, pantyhose, and a long wig with make up. He looked real and won the party's costume contest. the funniest thing was when he opened his prize it was a makeup kit! He wanted to give it away but we told him that maybe he wanted to keep it for future use. He blushed a deep red and we just laughed out loud. That night he slept in one of my pink babydoll nighties!

That sounds great. Where would someone go to get a ballerina outfit? I always liked that look and it would be fun to do. I also want to get just a regular leotard and tights set with those really cute short swingy skirts. Maybe I'd even do workouts in it!

Liz, dont be so shocked. I am sure that there are plenty of boys out there dressing up at home and nonbody knows about it.
I did get my own fancy dress! I went to JC Penny and they had tons of really nice dressy dresses there, I think for the prom season. I picked out a beutiful lilac colored long gown of tafetta that has a little white lace near the top of it and the shoulders kind of dip down a little bit and sits on the corner of my shoulders. I was so happy about it that I tried it on right away and it fit well. I wasn't sure but the size 7 was the right choice for me. I was nervous when I tried it on because of the shoulders so low I didn't know if the bra straps would show. Thankfully after I tried it with a bra, I can just push the bra straps down my shoulders a bit and it was fine. Next thing is to get some nice shoes to go with it.

you need to get a strapless bra for a dress like that. They sell them in any store that has bras. is the dress a long one? and you really need a matching little purse with that. it sounds like a great dress and hope you have fun in it. dont let a boy stick his hand down yoiur dress!!!

I found something to wear with the dress thats better than a strapless bra. I saw it in Victorias Secret and knew it would work wonderfully. It's kind of like a wasit cinch corset that has the bra part built in. It is a beautiful white satin and the bra cuos do have a good underwire that really helps me there. It looks perfect with the dress and you cant see the edge of the corset at all. I'm so happy!

I agree... corsets and cinchers are fun and sexy. Remember to wear your panties over the garter straps so that when you have to go and sit down to pee, you can pull them down! Gosh.... there are so many things that us girls much teach you. Have you tried an all in one body breifer yet?

I am a mother of two, a girl 14 and a boy 11. Both are well mannered and normal children. They get a little much for me to handle sometimes but I guess that is to be expected. My son is at the age that Mom doesn't know anything and he knows it all. I was so surprised one day coming home from running some erands to find both of them in my daughters room dressed up in dresses with high heels and makeup. I was a bit shocked at the sight and stood outside for a little bit. I couldn't get over how nice my son was playing and listening to my daughter. He was calmer than I had seen him in months. I went in and asked if they were playing a good game. My son was embarassed and ran into the bathroom. I coaxed him out by telling him that I wasnt mad and he looked pretty. He came out and could tell he was crying. I told him it was OK and he could play dress up whenever he wanted to.
He now wears lots of his sister's things, includinf her pajamas and nightgowns. He just looks so cute in them, I want to squeeze him. He seems happy when dressed up and his demeanor is so changed. I bought him his first dress for Easter and he wore it all day and has changed into it everyday that he comes home since then. I plan not to encourage him, but rather let him do it when he wants to. It's amazing the change that I have seen in him and it makes it easier on me. I have promised to go shopping for some summer clothes and he pulled out some magazines and started going on and on about what kinds of girls outfits he wants to get. I guess we will be doing most of the shopping this weekend in the girls stores.

Rebecca,
You are absolutly right, girls tend to like seeing boys all dressed up. Some can't get over how good we can do it, and others are just amazed seeing for the first time. The V Secrets that I was going to for while was a surprise for me. I had gone in many times dressed and thought that they knew. So one time when I'm in there early just after it opened and I'm shopping around a salesgirl that almost was always working there when I visted, came up and asked if she could help me. I usually just declined help saying that I was ok. But this one time I needed a black bra that dipped very low in front for a new dress I had just got. After picking out three choices, I still wasn't sure that any would work well. Since no other customers were there, I asked her advice. She said that I should try them on to see what would work. I told her that would be great, but is it ok for me to go into the dressing area with me really being a boy. She just about fell over and said that she had no idea. Music to my ears!! She said it was no problem and walked me to a cubicle. I had also picked out this dynamite lace teddy, so I went in with the 3 bras and the teddy. The second bra was the perfect cut, and when I was trying on the teddy she knocked on the door and asked if eveerything was all right. I said that one bra was perfect and I am just trying on the teddy. She asked if it fit ok and I had thought it was a bit tight. She told me to open the door a bit so she could see. She agreed it was a bit small and went and got the next size bigger. After I tried it on, she asked if it was an ok fit. Isaid it looked much better and she asked to see that one on me. She thought it fit great and confided that she thought it was sexier on me than the lingere looks on most real woman. We both had a good laugh and when I went to the register she talked me into signing up to the VS charge card. I got a 15% discount and now I get a free pair of panties every month. She really was nice and I go more often now becuase she is always fun to talk to about clothes. She is very nice and I don't feel she treats me any different than a real girl.

Never ask a slaesgirl if something looks ggod on you, because they will always tell you it does look good. That is their job, to sell the customers. I am not saying that your new teddy doesn't look good on you, but be careful. It's best to go with another girl to get an honest opinion.
I do like Victoria's as well, they may be a bit more expensive, but their panties and bras last longer and look like new forever. Have fun shopping!

I went to a costume shop with my girl friend to look for Halloween costumes. Her idea was for us to go as twins. There were rows and rows of fancy dresses. I've never seen so many frilly dresses! I was a little nervous a first, but after a while I felt more comfortable trying on these kind of dresses. For the next hour and a half I tried on prom, Southern Belle, square dance, dance hall girl, and ball gowns -- plus, putting these poofy petticoats underneath the dresses. I never would have thought it would be fun to try on or wear these type of girl's costumes, but it was fun fluffing and swishing the skirts around. We had a great time. We settled on both being Alice in Wonderland with matching blue dresses, aprons, petticoat and blonde wigs - we were a hit at the party. I really enjoyed trying on all thsoe types of dresses and want to go back and dress up again, but I'm afraid to ask her. It would be embarrassing to ask and what if she says no or why?

Greg,
I think I have an answer to your dilema. Why not just dress up on your own and then surprise your girlfriend by not telling her that your doing it and show up that way. When she asks why you are dressed like a girl, tell her that Halloween was so much fun, you wanted to relive the night. Be sure to do an excellent job and by all means wear some very frilly and feminine. I think she will understand and have a lot of fun with it.
As for the types of dresses that you describe, I must agree that trying on dresses like that is very fun. I too adore petticoats and how they look and feel. I started dressing by wearing ballerina clothes and still love putting on a frilly tutu and cute loetards and making believe that I am on stage preforming. Most girls understand and I don't think your girlfriend will ask why or say no! Good luck (:-o).

Sounds kind of risky to just show up and surprise her wearing a frilly dress and petticoat. Plus I really enjoyed trying on all those different dresses at the costume shop - and it seemed like a safe environment to dressup like a girl. There should be a way of getting dressed up again with her, where we tlak about it or ease into it, and it not just be a shocking surprise!

Well then, why dont you just go shopping with her and show a little more interest in the clothes she is looking at. You could give your input on what clothes you think are pretty and talk about the different styles. I think she'll get the idea that you have more than a casual interest in what she shops for. Who knows, you might end up buying really cute matching outfits and really have fun! Enjoy shopping ( like who doesn't).

Well thanks for the advice. I did get up the nerve to ask her if she liked role playing when we dressed up as Alice in Wonderland for that party. She said it was kind of cool to wear a costume a pretend to be another character - like being an actress. I said I thought it was fun too. She had that puzzled look -- and asked me if I liked dressing in the Alice in Wonderland costume. I said it was ok, it was different. (I lied, it was great fun!) I quicky turned the conversation -- I said I would enjoy picking out something for her to wear at the costume shop and be a special character for the weekend - she asked what? I said we need to go their for inspiration and I'm sure we'll find something for her, and create a theme weekend. We're going in a couple weeks (Yeah!) -- but she has know idea that I would love to dress up as a girl character too. I need to work up the nerve or a way to get her to suggest a dress for me too. Maybe a theme where we are both girls or something. Any other ideas how to manipulate (I know that sounds bad - but it's safe) the conversation or for me come home with a pretty dress too?

Perhaps you should suggest to dress up as some of the Disney characters like you as Snow White and her as Belle or maybe Cinderella. I wore a Snow White costume a few years ago on Halloween from my sister that she wore the year before. If you are like me and like waering petticoats it's a fun outfit. The petticoats were so big and fluffy, it was hard just walking around at the party that I went to. You really have to be careful and not knock into anything as you walk by. I came in second place in the costume contest to a guy dressed up as a nerd ( i thought it was a stupid costume). When we were picked up at the end of the party by my sisters friends Mom, I had to sit in the back seat with both of them and the dress and petticoat was so big it covered all three of us. We giggled about it the whole ride hmoe. Have fun dressing up and let me know what outfits you tried on!

I am also looking for some skirts that have the netting built right in already. I love how they float about and they are actually a bit cooler that a regular skirt in the hot weather.

This place has such beautiful frilly dresses and gowns, I just hope the stafff and other customers aren't around while we "play".

I was shopping in a Mandee store the other day and a girl came up behind me and asked where I got the cute skirt that I was wearing. I turned around and said I really didn't remember and that I had it for a while. I continued shopping and then remembered that I got it at Old Navy, so I looked for her in the store to tell her so. She was going into the try-on rooms and I told her where I bought it and she said thanks. I had two skirts in my arms and she said she would share the cubicle if I wanted to instead of waiting on line. I whispered in her ear that I didnt think that was a good idea because i am really a boy. She looked at me and laughed and said she had no idea and she appologized. I said no problem and went to the back of the line. When I came out she was waiting at the registers and said that she thought I was the cutest thing she ever saw. We laughed and I told her thanks alot. It's so much fun to go out and mingle with real girls.

Ignore the random name. I am quite curious tohow you all get your families adjusted to this, and how you can do out and be ok. Iwould love to....but in my neighborhood....everyone is more or less...well..."Thugish" so, if they were to see a guy in a skirt, well, its obvious what would happen. Do any of you live in a neighborhood like that? If so, how do you live around it? I mean, Im 18, I am one of those many that are more in secret, but I find that dresses and skirts do seem rather...well... comfortable. I'd actually like to try things out in a different way, like going out, but my family doesnt know I do it, and if they did, god knows what would happen. See, I know for a fact I'm not gay, but if my father were to see me in a dress, he would think I was. If that happened, Idk what he would do. He does use words (rarely) like when he heard about Elton John getting married, he did say Pansy and all... Idk... I think I'd have to keep in secret. So hard around a place like this :\

Chuckie Cheese,
I understand your problem and it is more in your head than in reality. First off, no one ever said anything about being gay. I am not gay either. Next, you never mentioned that you would like to try looking like a girl, only about wearing the clothes. To go out dressed you should try to look like a girl. If you can pull it off good, then when you want to go out, no one will think anything other than you are a girl. As for your parents, I would suggest that you let a close friend ( girl) in on your secret of dressing up. You can tell her of your fears about your dad and suggest that you both get dressed up together and go out with her. Then you can tell your dad that she is your girlfreind and that you do not go out with guys, but you and her like it when your dressed up. Plenty of guys dress up with girls and it's good because you fit in better and you will be surprised by how many girls you meet that will think its fun and really cool. The girls will open up and let you into their "club". The first time I went out it a slightly sexy dress was with 3 girls and I was nervous as heck. But after calming down a bit, I enjoyed it. It was fun dancing with them in a dress and high heels and even just going to the ladies room with one of them and fixing my makeup and hair and added to the whole experience. The very next weekend I found myself getting dressed up to go out shopping with all 3 of them and they mostly traeted me like a girl, except for picking out outfits for me asking what I thought I would look like in different styles. Have fun with it !!!

Well, I haven't come to that point yet. I have always enjoyed the dressing up and doing the little things to make me look and feel more feminine, but it has always been done for my own feelings. I will admit that I felt I fit in with girls better and I think that the girls can sense that and accept it ok. I will also tell you that as you get better and start doing things and going places as a girl, you of course, notice that boys look at you and treat you differently. At first it was really scary, but you get used to it and realize it's a compliment. I'll just take it one step at a time! Bye (8-)
